Post-Election Follow-Through: What Then?
4/26/2012 | jaydee770

Posted on 04/26/2012 7:54:22 AM PDT by jaydee770

I hear freepers commenting on various voting strategies which include (but are not limited to):

- Not voting for the GOP candidate (presumably Romney at this point)
- Voting for the GOP candidate whoever it is (either *for* GOP or *against* Obama)
- Sitting this one out
- Writing in someone (based on principles or protest)
- That it would somehow be better if Obama is re-elected so conservatives won't be blamed for the inevitable collapse/implosion.

So as difficult as it may be for some, forget about your voting decision for the moment. My question is, "looking ahead to Wednesday, November 7, 2012, what are you going to do then?"

If we are going to do anything to fix the mess we find ourselves in, we will have 4 years until the next presidential election. There should be plenty of lessons-learned from this election regarding tactics, strategy, dirty-dealing and outright fraud on the part of the GOPe, the Dems and the MSM. So what do we do?

Anyone can see problems and obstacles and I'm no different when it comes to finding something to complain about. Here are some of the problems I see (off the top of my head):

- Identify and nominate conservative candidates who can Lead, Unite, Motivate, Sway-Opinions and Dominate a campaign
- Accelerate the growth of the conservative-right
- The GOP primary process is a mess that seems guaranteed to favor RINOs
- The GOP (figuratively speaking) is infested with RINO vermin and needs to be tent-fumigated from top to bottom
- We need a bigger barrel of ink and a louder megaphone than the MSM
- [insert additional issues here]

I readily admit I'm not knowledgeable enough about the "smoky backroom" aspects of political machinery to even pretend to suggest any solutions. Hence, I turn to the F.R. community. It is a rare few that can suggest reasonable, prudent and achievable solutions and I'm open to suggestions.

more seats in the House with the right people

There are NO RIGHT PEOPLE! Those Tea Party congressmen from the last election have given us police state legislation and go for anything totalitarian that comes down the pike. There are no RINOs up there. They are all totalitarians. There a very few exceptions and those are mostly on only one or two individual bills. Vote for who appears to be the best man but assume the worst because the worst will happen. If all the Best Men win then the worst may be drawn out a bit but it is still coming. NONE of these people will reduce anything. The best will load up the government with laws and rules and oppressions to keep us safe. The less-than-best will just go for total control as quickly as possible along with as much personal gain as they can promote..

>>...No more McCains. This Republic is on the verge of being lost to communism FROM BOTH PARTIES...<<

I believe that sentiment is near ubiquitous among conservatives.

>>...If the gopees try to go with a candidate that got a failed rank, they have no one to cry to except themselves. They MUST start responding to the will of the conservative base, or that conservative base will be GONE...<<

The conservatives that you say will abandon the GOPe, how does their head-count compare to all the moderates & RINOs that are propping up Romney? More? About even? Less? Though I’d like to think the GOPe would suffer a cumulative, extended fit of hand-wringing and teeth-gnashing over the loss of some of their constituents, I rather doubt it. Consider the tea-party victories in congress and in local/state elections. That was HYOOGE for a movement that found it’s voice *during* a single election season. The GOPe didn’t seem too bothered by it, even tried to co-opt it a bit and finally (it seems) just ignores it. I guess my point is that to have the desired effect, we would need a heck-of-a lot more conservative emmigrants and/or we need to greatly accelerate the growth of the “conservative base” to counter the moderate/rino base to such a degree that the GOPe suffered significantly because of it. I’m all for that, if it can be done.

Get the kenyan out of office by electing Romney? Replace the right shoe with the left shoe. George Soros will win this election.

>>...Effective change may well be impossible by that point...<<

Maybe. Maybe not. It would probably be a good idea to plan for it either way it goes. Times are a-changin’. Long seated congressmen *are* being primaried. I see no reason why the tea-party (or conservative party, or libertarians or whoever) can’t find a suitable candidate to primary Romney, unless we just lay down and quit.

We just need to make it known that we have no problem with primarying a Romney presidency and fully intend to do so. All we need is a suitable candidate (if we can just get our act together...).

>>...but Mutt couldn’t be primaried from the Right...<<

I keep hearing that like it’s law. But long seated congressmen are being primaried and I see no reason why Romney couldn’t be primaried. We just have to find a compelling candidate to push over the top. No idea how that process works, but I refuse to believe Romney absolutely can not be successfully primaried *if* he wins this time.

It occurred to me that in order to be intellectually consistent and honest that there should be huge TEA Party rallies after the election; especially if Romney is elected.

The first step is getting people involved again, and letting the powers that be, whomever they are, know that we are still out here.

Oh, heck yes! At a bare minimum, this should happen and continue to happen all through the next term, whoever is elected.

You betcha I’m willing to change shoes. I know how uncomfortable the right shoe is. I am at least willing to try changing shoes, leaving the the one I have on now is unacceptable. Voting for someone else or staying home only leaves the one I have on to keep hurting.

First I am voting for Mittens. I will hold my nose but if anyone here has an ounce of sense they will do the same. Don’t argue with me because I am right. Tough. Grow up. Mittens is easily swayed. That is the key for you too stupid to understand it. We have the power to control this clown. He will be as conservative as we make him. The ball is in our court. DO YOU IDIOTS REALLY WANT OBAMA FOR FOUR MORE YEARS? I will vote for a ham sandwich before giving it to Bambi.
Now on to the real issue. You pose a good question. What do we do next.
Every FReeper needs to be a member of their local Tea Party.
In my county we are working to run the place.
We got rid of a blue dog dem. who was woolgathering for the last 20 years. We got rid of a RINO state senator. We are getting rid of the RINO we replaced the blue dog with. We have power and the locals know it.
Get off your ass and off the comuputer and get involved. All I hear here is whinning.
Oh I don’t like Mittens. Tough. Man and woman up and get
pragmatic. Our country has been in the crapper for almost 100 years. You think we are going to fix things overnight?
Get into the local party. We are. We have members appointed to various committees etc. If the RINO’s are too packed where you live think infiltration. Pretend you are a good ole’ boy to get in. Get others in. Then take it over. FIGHT. Quit whinning. I give lectures on the Supreme Court and the Constitution. I am trying to get on a local REpub. board. Push up from the bottom. That’s how its done. We are doing it down here.

I agree. But I'm also not fooling myself for a second. At this point, barring divine intervention or some other sort of miracle at the convention, it's either going to be Romney or Obama. That's what I'm bracing for and fully understand we are in for a rough ride **either way**. But like you, I'm not willing to just lay down and quit. I want to keep the pressure on, grow our ranks and see if there is anything that can be done at a grassroots level to fix what's dysfunctional. I just have no idea what the step-by-step would be to do something like pressure the GOP to change the primary process. I think there's plenty of us that are willing to do what we can, if we only knew the "how" of it. Just like the energy policy we need, our political policy should be "Do it all; Do it now" and don't let up.

Not advocating kid-gloves and you can call me crazy, but I’m not so sure the “insult folks until they agree” tactic is going to work as well as you might think. Made me chuckle though!

Absolutely agree. Everyone from the dog-catcher all the way up to your fed representatives and senators. Support your local conservative.

That is a possibility regardless of whether Obama *or* Romney wins and it looks like it's going to be one or the other. I know of no other viable candidates. Well, barring a miracle at the convention... Perhaps I should say, it will be the "GOP candidate" or Obama.

We can either try to do something about it *all* during the next term and attempt a correction in 2016 -OR- we can lay down & quit and hope someone else will fix it for us.

Most of the support for Willard is a product of MSM propaganda. This can not be removed but it can be countered.

I guess my point is that to have the desired effect, we would need a heck-of-a lot more conservative emigrants and/or we need to greatly accelerate the growth of the “conservative base” to counter the moderate/rino base to such a degree that the GOPe suffered significantly because of it. A VERY good start would be here...

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2876731/posts?page=34#34

This concept can be expanded to countering the MSM propaganda as well. It will not remove it but that may not be what we would really want.

A better strategy would be to isolate their propaganda by focusing an information campaign on top conservative candidates in media that to date have been the realm of the left.

Internet sites, Youtube, twitter, etc.

Put the cold facts of the leftist's communist goals in plain language, clearly and simply state HOW THIS WILL WRECK the future of the college kids to the 30 somethings.

Clearly state how the conservative candidate will CORRECT that.

Educate them on how they can rid themselves of their government dependences. Clearly state who is actually doing this to them.

If they think they are pizzed off now, give them the truth, give them the facts and NAME NAMES. Make the specific accusation with the cold facts.

Name names and be viciously specific. The harder you push a lefty, the more stupid and vapid there screeching becomes. Mock them, ridicule them, humiliate them and do not let up.

Drive them to insanity (not a long journey) so they are stupid with rage and watch them make mistake after mistake.

Take THAT and mock them, ridicule them, humiliate them with their NEW screwups and frantic accusations against cold, even voiced factual indictments against the left.

The fastest way to get a "progressive liberal" to screw up is to piss them off WITH THE TRUTH and refuse their idiotic "logic."

Then just publicly laugh at them.

As I have stated in many previous posts...

The only way to preserve freedom for American Citizens in this Republic is suppression of the communist supporters. "Taking the high road" is rapidly becoming something to be put on the shelf for a while. It is now time to step up, get in their face and refuse any other narrative other than they are worthless communist agenda bastards undeserving of a place in this Republic.

. A better strategy would be to isolate their propaganda by focusing an information campaign on top conservative candidates in media that to date have been the realm of the left.

Like the idea of an honest debate, free of MSM tinkering; however, I fear that if you limit it to web-based distribution only you are going to be “preaching to the choir”. Rather, the vast majority of viewers will be friendly conservatives and/or dems bloggers & msm propagandists looking for hit-piece material.

Now, I have no panacea for curing the MSM spin & bias, but to reach the widest possible audience (which we must *try* to do to grow our ranks) we will somehow have to “use” the major networks for the time being. And when I say “use”, I mean just that. Use them like a rented mule.

I also like countering in plain language using hard facts with a calm, reasonable, matter-of-fact and unshakable demeanor. Let the dems screech all they want, but we remain unmoved and resolute and just keep hammering them with logic & reason supported by fact & common-sense. Don’t shrink from the inevitable confrontations and ridicule the snot out of their over-the-top histrionics.

But, to do that, we need a bunch of folks on point who possess a broadband knowledge of the issues (Gingrich-esque) who can remain calm under pressure. We need to find those folks, recruit them and push them out front.

It was mentioned the other day around here that a “Primary Day”, would always favor the candidate with the most money and media attention.

I can see that because that candidate would have the means to moneybomb everywhere very quickly.

If you like that candidate, it would be great. If you don’t, your guy hasn’t a chance to build and gain a following.

I think the allocation of delegates is the dirty process.

In thinking about my post I believe you are correct, it does need to be on TV. Although the major networks will attempt to go into total meltdown over such T&Cs one (or more) of the networks will probably agree to it.

If they are thinking of violating the T&C agreement they will certainly believe they can weasel out of it claiming journalistic privilege under the Constitution (yeah, NOW they like the Constitution).

In anticipation of this, as soon as the debaters are on stage and have been introduced, with the network(s) still in the first three or four minutes of the broadcast the moderators and whatever other conservatives are designated to be on camera begin reading a short summary of the T&C regarding NO network commentary, NO “reaction,” NO viewer opinions, NO emails sent in during the debate, NO additions or voice-over “interpretations” and NO re-broadcasts of any part of the debate are allowed.

They then clearly state exactly who signed the T&C agreement for each corp that is carrying the feed.

All on-camera individuals will have a copy and be ready to read with the producers of the debate monitoring in real time what is actually being broadcast. The producers are communicating with all on-camera individuals. No matter where the network(s) switch the active camera of the feed to, that person picks up the reading of the T&C summary.

They can cap it off with a quick review of the mandatory fines. Only then do they start the debate.

The networks have been playing games for far too long. Let’s see how they do in a real game of hardball.

.

The GOP primary process is a mess that seems guaranteed to favor RINOs

I don’t think so. Conservatives just need to come up with a candidate who the vast majority of Republicans see as electable. They didn’t do it this time.

They did not do it the last time either, i believe that is because the establishment wants some one who is working for the good of the G.O.P rather than the good of capitalism.

I doubt very much if they expected Sarah Palin to be chose as vice president. when that happened they all but deserted them.
