Suze Orman: If You Know A Gay Person, Vote For Obama [VIDEO]
The Jane Dough ^ | May 14, 2012 | Amy Tennery

Posted on 05/15/2012 10:22:12 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Suze Orman, personal finance guru and Chancellor Of Extremely Tough Love, stopped by The View today for a wide-ranging discussion that included, unsurprisingly, a conversation about President Obama’s recent announcement in support of gay marriage. Orman, herself openly gay and happily married, shared her reaction to Obama’s statement — and gave an emotional plea for more support for gay marriage.

The segment, of course, was not without some awkward moments. The worst of which, perhaps, was when Barbara Walters choked out the sentence “you are married to your [insert 5-second pause here] wife?” with the same tone with which someone might ask “you own… 58 pet iguanas?”

“Is that hard to say?” Orman responded, somewhat stunned. Can’t say we blame her for wondering.

“No, I had to think of the right word,” Walters explained.

Mmm. Moving on.

And what did Orman think when she heard the president announce his support for same-sex marriage?

“I thought I was going to die of happiness on the spot. You know, I’m going to be 61 in June. And in my entire life I never thought — during my lifetime — that I would see that this even beginning to be a possibility.”

Of course, when View co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck noted that Obama sort of, well, put same-sex marriage back on the states to figure it out for themselves, Orman didn’t mince words, arguing that “It has to go to the federal level. It absolutely has to.”

And then, the kicker:

“It’s an emotional issue, it’s a financial issue. And it’s an issue that I really hope — if you know a gay person, if they’re your mother your children, your cousin, your employee, your employer, I don’t care, your dog walker — I’m asking you all to vote for President Obama and make this a reality.”

Suze Orman is a very talented business woman and knows what she is talking about in relationship to finance and investing. What she does in bed is her damn business and I do not care. I do not care if she is “married” in the eyes of the law. I would care greatly if she was married in the eyes of the church. Marriage has been a function of the church for over 2000 years. It is only of recent that it is also function of civilian law. As long as the civilian law does not interfere with the doctrine of the church, I do not care!

I do find it odd that Suze Orman is advocating a vote for an individual that is the opposite of her in relationship to wealth creation. She wants to create wealth and Obama wants to take the wealth.

The same people who laughed at marriage and called it only a piece of paper, finally got their way and now it is commonly accepted, almost expected that people will cohabitate. What used to be only for Hollywood types and real trash, has become accepted in the middle class. So now that they have achieved their goal in that way, they want to turn around and say that marriage is the most important thing in the world. So which is it? JUST a piece of paper and nobody’s business, or ESSENTIAL to one’s happiness and dignity? Or, do they just want to stir the pot and demand the opposite, just for the sake of doing so, much like two year olds?

My father was gay. I grew up in a high gay pop town (Palm Springs), my best friend for many years was gay. Frankly, I am sick of them and their attitudes.

Orman replied: “K.T. is my life partner. K.T. stands for Kathy Travis. We’re going on seven years. I have never been with a man in my whole life. I’m still a 55-year-old virgin.”

So, to hell with America. Let the commie ‘RATS destroy the country as a reward for Barry the Kenyan saying that he has “evolved” about homosexuality? This Orman ho is weird. She sure isn’t very bright.

Yes, you got that right.

The same liberals who say that marriage is just a piece of paper, an institution which oppresses women, etc., are the same people who insist we must have homosexual marriage.

I don’t follow the logic, but that’s the liberal thinking on marriage.

It isn’t going to become a reality.

Use whatever word you want for your hookup, union, partnership, whatever and go down to the local gaydiam for some group validation but, you cannot use the word marriage and make every romantic novel or the Bible part of your hate crime initiative to criminalize the rest of us in pursuit of normalizing your sexual decision.

We don’t care what you do behind a closed door but, that same as PDA is offensive for hetero behavior it is also offensive for homo behavior.

Beside, do you really want to continue objectifying yourselves as gays or would you like to be part of the human race and keep your bedroom proclivities to yourself and not make them your primary identity?

Would you like your friends to introduce you as “My gay friend”? or would you like to be known as a friend?

There is a difference there, it’s subtle but, it’s there...

Don’t forget I wuz borned in duh sinny....San Fransicko....

yeah, it was spring break and truthfully I was there for the weekend with my friends...Whooooo, happen to be gay.

Not the flamboyant type, except in private settings but they are gay never the less.

Hilarious and very talented guys.

We had a discussion a few years ago regarding marriage and it ended with them telling me how offended they were with my position.

To which I replied something along the lines “I recognize synthetic temperaments for their ability to manipulate others but, I am not swayed.

You want to normalize your lifestyle by legal and lawful dicta, which is not to say your choices are recognized as say la vie but, more regimented by penalty of law for the safety of your choice, while you throw said choice in our face all day long.

You cease being funny when your whole mantra or humor is merely about sex and cheapened to some backroom pejorative for it’s over exposure.

You are funny, witty, intelligent and a variety of other things that don’t make up 20 minutes out of your day, in bed.

Think Ellen guys. Bright, talented and very funny but, not when it became the sole subject.

Do you want to be seen as a one dimensional objectified term or as human beings who have value outside the bedroom?

Conversation changed as everyone’s minds started whirring with, probably, how they were going to pummel but, I had told them an immutable truth:
“You have value as human beings and friends”. “Your bedroom antics and carnivals....I don’t care to see”.

Huh? That’s as sensible as saying “If you have ever known a Mormon or anyone who drove a Rambler, vote for Romney”.

"If a Mormon has ever knocked on your door, vote for Romney"

Voting for someone because they're gay is as stupid and narrow-minded as voting for someone because of their skin color.

Try the content of their character!

Flippin morons just like this idiot, goes way beyond "felony stupid"
