Is there a Ron Paul putsch under way?
World Net Daily ^ | 06/05/12 | Pam Gellar

Is a Paulian putsch being planned for the Republican National Convention?

Newt Gingrich has warned that Republican leaders have not thought through “how they’re going to handle the convention in Tampa, and how they’re going to handle the Ron Paul forces.” The New York Sun reported that “what Mr. Gingrich seems to be worried about is the delegates that Congressman Paul is winning through his strategy of dealing with state conventions. The former speaker had just come from the convention at Georgia, where … the ‘Ron Paul people’ were out in force.”

I have been receiving alarming emails concerning an underhanded, anti-American Ron Paul coup that is being plotted for the GOP convention.

From Virginia: “I’m running for delegate to the RNC convention in Tampa. There is a serious Paulbot infestation in the GOP here in Virginia. I’m spending a lot of time at GOP apparatchik meetings. I’ve gotten the endorsement of the Conservative Coalition (I was the top vote-getter), and usually that is enough but not this cycle.”

And this came in from a reader of my website AtlasShrugs.com out West: “There is a very interesting situation going on behind the scenes in the Republican Party state caucuses, and the MSM is not reporting it. Ron Paul’s followers have taken control of the Republican state committees in Nevada, Alaska, Iowa, Maine and Louisiana and working for more control in upcoming meetings. They have stolen delegates to the upcoming Republican National Convention away from Mitt Romney by following some technical rules.”

Have you heard Paul speak recently?
He is nearly incoherent.
His speeches are unfocused and disjointed.
Does it mean he has dementia, not necessarily, maybe he has always been like that, I couldn’t say.
My experience is that most Paul supporters have projected onto him what they want him to be, not who he actually is.

Are you aware that “military-hating” Ron Paul got more campaign contributions from active-duty military personnel than all the other GOP candidates combined?

If he’s got to take it I don’t want Romney to just take it in a walk. He needs to be reminded - constantly - that there are a heck of a lot of conservatives who are very uncomfortable with him and that he’s not going to go back-to-Massachussetts on us if he’s elected. If Paul is good for anything he may be good for that.

*sigh*

You didn’t get enough of a beating on that other thread? I guess some folks are always trying to ice skate up hill...

One more time for those of you who are terminally stupid:

Paul is the only one who can keep Willard from getting the GOP nod. He’s the only other person who has not dropped their name from contention.

In order to get the options opened up for other candidates at the Convention, we need to have Paul keep enough delegates from Roney.

Paul’s folks played by the Rules in LA. The GOP didn’t like that. Tough cookies.

None of this in any way is advocacy for a Paul Presidency.

Are we clear? Or are you still going to act like some half-brained newbie troll?

“He can get things done.”

That’s the problem. A lot of what he HAS done are not things we want him doing. It’s that whole Constitution thing.

Follow it or go home.

Simple.

NO, he did not.
That claim by Paulbots has been debunked so many times it is starting to get funny.
Every news source that reports that claim (follow the links) all go back to Paul’s own sites.
Anyone can get on the reporting agency’s website, look at the donations and see for themselves, the claim is simply not true.

My bad. I haven’t heard Paul since the debates. I certainly don’t seek out his public speaking events. But claiming dementia without a diagnosis seems a bit over the line to me. Paul should not be president because a number of his key policy positions disqualify him, not because he rambled a few times in public. IMHO.

nope..just my humble opinion..

I worked nursing homes for 17 years and I've seen a lot, have a son in the medical profession, I've learned a lot and at age of 69 I feel a lot!!! and the body slows down, regardless if we want it to or not! and at 80 the brains cells diminish.

have you seen Ron Paul in the past several months, out campaigning for this job of President he wants, does he really, really want it? He should be out and about daily, proving he wants this job..a job with tremendous responsibility, that takes a sharp brain to deal with it,I don't believe he has the energy to do that. and his handlers keep him under wrap so he won't make a verbal mistake and let the MSM get on to him, so they are protecting him.

Ron Paul has only certain subjects he will talk about, he has not proven his worth to this voter..and I will repeat, the aging process has taken over Ron Paul..

Oh, they'll make noise, but Paul isn't as influential as he thinks he is.

The surrender monkey has NEVER done anything the entire time he has been in Washington, except acquire more ear marks than anybody running.
I don't think there is too much to worry about.

Nothing to be scared of, unless your are a RINO, GOP Elite, or a lock-step good Ol’ Boy Republican: My party, right or wrong!

This is the challenge to leadership to the Republican Party that should have occurred decades ago.

McCain in 2008 gave the win to Obama by refusing to discuss anything about Obama prior to Obama becoming the Junior Senator from Illinois.

Romney in 2012 is giving Obama the win by refusing to discuss anything about Obama’s legal eligibility for office.

Ron Paul is the Father of the Taxed Enough Already Party, the only Primary Candidate to have a workable plan to reduce Federal Spending by 1 TRILLION Dollars in the first year, but he is 76 years old.

Ron Paul is of value to us in that those of us that want to crush Obama in a landslide, need an OPEN or Brokered Convention in Tampa, where there is the possibility of choosing a Nominee who could actually beat Obama.

Right now Romney is statistically tied with Obama.

This is a clear indication that Romney is to weak of a candidate to beat incumbent Obama in November. Even the Democrats are grumbling about replacing Obama.

Romney was the winner in the Primaries, sort of, and just has enough moxie now to tie with Obama.

Romney is a weak Candidate.

Romney will probably lose to the Incumbent.

Romney needs to be replaced by a stronger Candidate.

None of the Primary Candidates are strong enough to win big in the Primaries, and thus all are weak National candidates against Obama.

If Republicans want to beat Obama they will choose a Nominee stronger than any of the Candidates who ran in the Primaries.

If the Republicans want to lose to Obama they will choose Romney to be their Nominee.

I choose beating Obama, and thus I reject Romney.

Are you RomneyBots afraid of a little competition ???

Desperately afraid and I say that as someone who doesn't particularly like Ron Paul but cares even less for the Chicago Machine style tactics team Romney has used.

Everybody knows that is not true. Paulbots took a page out of Obama's playbook. Obama used it against McCain so the surrender monkey thought he would use it too.
Both Obama and Cut and Run had their moonbats state they were military. There is nothing making them prove it. It makes it look like real Americans support them, when anybody with even half a brain knows anybody who supports America would NEVER support Cut and Run or the wannabe king.

New York Times http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/12/22/soldiers-choice/

"As of the last reporting date, at the end of September, Paul leads all candidates by far in donations from service members. This trend has been in place since 2008, when Paul ran for president with a similar stance: calling nonsense at hawk squawk from both parties."

"This year, Paul has 10 times the individual donations — totaling $113,739 — from the military as does Mitt Romney. And he has a hundred times more than Newt Gingrich, who sat out the Vietnam War with college deferments and now promises he would strike foes at the slightest provocation. "

NYT is not a Paul site.

Paul knows as much about the constitution as Fred Phelps does about the Bible.
You appear to be projecting what you think he says, compared to what he has actually done and written.

John all you have to do is go to the reporting agency on the web to actually see who gives what to which candidate.
All these stories are eventually linked back to Paul sites.

“cut spending” , there is a reason Paul is known “earmark King of congress”......pssst it is not for cutting spending. (Oh unless it is to cripple the military)

Well I know Paul always votes against increased spending and raising taxes. I know the GOPe increases spending and raises taxes either directly or indirectly by borrowing. So I will go with what I know for a fact.

I also know that Ron Paul as been consistently on message for at least 30 years. (He is my Congressman) So I am willing to believe him when he says "If we would just follow the Constitution everything would work out OK".

Again, Cut and Run gets his band of surrender monkeys to SAY they are military, just like Obama did. Some of the surrender monkeys support does come from civilians working for DOD, but not actual servicemen and women.
