Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

I’m with you. I like Ryan despite his imperfections.

With Romney you have to wade through his flaws to find his imperfections.

As an agnostic, I don't give a crap.

Yet, as I stated earlier, this is an awful pick. Ryan could never be more effective than where he is now. Romney takes a true conservative out of a position of power and sends him to foreign funerals for the next four years. Once again the conservatives get screwed!

The only other choice is taking our country down the path to Greece. If the Obama/Biden ticket wins I see $20 Trillion or more in the national debt. We may not have a country as we know it.

Have you checked out ‘12 POTUS candidate Tom Hoefling of America’s Party? IMHO, he’s much better than Virgil Goode, on most issues. Tom’s knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and all other important U.S. documents is second to none, and Tom is a terrific speaker, too.

Make sure everybody gets this point.

Jim,

I understand your views, I wish that they had prevailed in the primaries. But, this country as we know it will cease to exist if Obama is reelected. You are helping the other team, although I know that is not your intent.

Conservatism can prevail, but only if we get rid of the Progressive/Communist cancer that infects the White House. Romney’s not a cancer, just a very bad case of the Tupelo Two Step, Montezuma’s revenge, the Race to the Throne. Keep your powder dry and stock up on TP.

Ryan could never be more effective than where he is now.

Hardly.

Ryan's budget went nowhere. The President sets the spending in this country. Obama and Bush are the most recent proof of that. In a Romney-Ryan Administration, Romney will set the budget goal, Ryan will generate the President's budget and submit it to the House for Rubber Stamping. Trust me. That's the way it will be. Ryan is our best hope for that budget being something we can live with.

No argument here and I agree 100%. The VP Office really means nothing except for a few days after the pick is announced.

I’m just hoping that this is setting up Ryan, or another Conservative, for 2016.

Rep. Ryan looks like the older brother of Brad Paisley, the country music performer.

Well heck.

I hope it wasn't any of the good moderators!
I thank them all for their efforts regardless.

And no, Ryan does not redeem Romney but he sure don't hurt.

I used to be for Goode but you’re right. Hoefling matches up with most of us conservatives. Goode is isolationist like Ron Paul and its a shame.

Thank you. I guess the Apostle Paul must have been a "bigot", too, when he preached against false religions on Mars Hill. It's been unreal, seeing conservatives use such accusations.

Now that's the type of in-depth political analysis that can be counted on here at Free Republic. Thanks for your contribution.

By the way, who does Ryan's wife look like?
