Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

“But no matter what i think of Mitt, I despise Zero and will vote for any Republican nominee before I help Zero get another 4 years by sitting it out or voting for a third party nobody.”

Me, too. I have my personal opinions about Mormons (summed up as one of the greatest hoaxes of the 19th century). I also do not like Romney. But I’m voting AGAINST 0bama. That means no loser/spoiler 3rd party candidate, too. I’m keeping religion out of this. (By the way, how many other sinners have we elected to the office of the President since 1789? ....2012 won’t be a first or a last...a fate we all share.) It’s called POLITICS not Faith and they don’t mix well.

Amen to that.

I’m just glad some here see that it’s not just a drolling, “I HATE OBAMA” that should drive your vote. It is the future of Conservatism itself. And that future will END with Romney.

No Romney, no way. The Ryan pick? It was just to get some of you to the polls.

Oh my, pot calling kettle ...’you know’.... Romney is ‘JesusChrist’, dumber than the dumbest things I have yet to read. Your filth language is NOT helping the Romney campaign.

Your ad hominem are so typical of Willard "Myth" Romney
and his Team of BAckstabbers (of Conservatives, women and the handicapped, especially).

Vicious hyperliberal Romney is exactly like Obama on many issues,
ranging from judges nominated, to TARP support,
to thinking they are deities.

Mr. RomneyCARE matches Obama in Constitution breaking.

Furthermore, for your foul-mouthed RomneyBOT info (like you care anyway)
Mr. RomneyCARE EXCEEDS Obama’s in hyperliberality and statism
in that Mr. RomneyCARE personally installed both ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE
AND gay marriage.

Based on his PAST BEHAVIOR, Mr. RomneyCARE
is far to the left of both Obama
and the late Ted Kennedy and anyone else the DNC might put out..

I used to be for Goode but you’re right. Hoefling matches up with most of us conservatives. Goode is isolationist like Ron Paul and its a shame.

Hoefling is a hypocrite on spending. He says he wants to cut it, but then doesn't want to touch the massive waste called the War in Afghanistan. If you're not serious about across the board spending cuts, then you're not serious - period. Hoefling isn't serious.

I understand. I fully support your right- & everyone’s, to speak their mind & vote as their conscience requires. As much as I dislike Romney (I like Paul Ryan a LOT!), I fear what will become of our country under 4 more years of 0bama much, much more. I abhor all that’s happened, not just for the past 4 years, but resulted from the democrats’ control of Congress from 2006 to 2010.

I hope our moderators relent. FREE Republic lives up to it’s name.

God Bless you, Jim, & everyone at Free Republic!

“Please don’t let this election tear us apart everyone, we are all on the same team even if we disagree here and there.”

Yea, good luck with that. These so called “conservatives” right here at FR would rather say “I told you so” after another Obama victory than get together to defeat the bastard before it happens. Like a frigging Mormom has ever encroached on your lifestyle or even had the power to do so?

And, no, we are not all on the same team. The single issue voters are killing us. Take note right here on FR.

That’s really the problem you don’t see. This battle is bigger than Barack Obama, but the scumbags in the GOPe want you to believe it is. The battle is with the IDEOLOGY that empowers Obama and so many others, including within the GOPe itself. Mittens is merely the Republican version of the same progressive ideology. IOW, we lost this battle when Mittens secured his path to the nomination.

What will happen with Mittens is 4 years of degenerate RINO control, followed up with another possible 4 years of degenerate RINO control, to be followed up with degenerate DemonRat control. Because, let’s face it, Romney is a big government statist who is just going to manage the decline. Except now the Great Economic Collapse that is coming is going to fall on OUR doorstep instead of the socialists. I won’t vote for Obama, but I sure as hell hope Mittens loses and we have strong conservatives to oppose him in Congress. The short term pain is better than long term mediocrity and eventual death.

Jim, I am NOT with you on this issue, brother.

Mormons are not Christians; they believe in a false “prophet” that Jesus warned us about. I agree.

That said, I have to choose between a wannabe anti-Christ who will be a lame duck pResident who will finish his work destroying this once great country of ours and a Mormon. I will vote for mitt and then puke my guts out and take a bleach shower afterwards, but I will.

A conservative voter staying home is voting for that POS who currently occupies OUR White House illegally. Are you going to “vote” for IT by not voting and advocate that freepers do the same? Then I am disappointed in you, Jim.

Signed,
A future bannie. So be it but I had to speak my mind.

The question must be, are you are much happier having an Obama administration with Democrats in control of our demise then choking down your disagreement with Romney and the few positions that you have a problem with and slowing it from happening in your lifetime.

Sometimes (oft-times) things don’t go exactly the way you want. You make do with the cards you were dealt. In this case, we failed to get a better pick for Prez. So we make do, and meanwhile stay focused on the primaries for future races. Eventually we will win, if we don’t feel defeated.

The VP Office really means nothing except for a few days after the pick is announced

I would venture to guess that Dick Cheney would laugh at your comment.

Paul Ryan will serve to enact a huge portion of what conservatives have been working toward. Ryan's public appearances and his relationships with Congress will be invaluable.

Gov. Romney picked a true conservative and one of the most qualified out there. It would be folly not to vote in favor of Ryan's blueprint which will be largely enacted after they get elected. Under Obama, millions would suffer greviously. I have no problem voting for the GOP ticket.

The CPUSA is completely irrelevant when it comes to political power, in part because they routinely purged any and all who were not ideologically pure in every way. They drove away many who agreed with their general views of politics and were willing to help them gain political power. They were a complete failure.

Usually people do not waste their time, let alone their supposed self perceived intellect on irrelevancy, but yet you took the time to prove otherwise.
