I understand why you are saying these things. But this is not how it needs to go down.
These discussions seriously belong in the Religion forum, not News/Activism. There is time to make it right — it just requires the action.
I have a US Senator in my state that has a 90 lifetime rating from the ACU (American Conservative Union) running for election from a governor appointment. He is a Mormon.
You know how a huge lead can just go poof at the end in this state. A “safe” seat can turn into “leans Democrat” within the space of 8 weeks. It’s crazy here.
I can’t Freep or use FR to organize grassroots activities for him if it is permitted to trash his religion in any News/Activism forum.
Please meet us halfway.
Well, that’s funny too, because the moderators in question were demanding that all such threads were moved to the news forum and that’s part of what started this entire brouhaha. And it was more or less demanded that I post my views on the book of Mormon as well. I’ve done so many times, but decided to take them up on it again with this thread.
By the way, his Mormonism is not my objection to Romney. I’ve objected to Rudy McRomney (and Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Clinton, Kennedy, et al, for that matter) for a long, long time and it has nothing to do with religion in any case. With the exception of McCain, it’s their abortionism, homosexualism, big government statism, shamnesty, etc, etc, etc., and general anti-liberty or RINOism where applicable.
Here’s my objection to Romney:

You're talking about Dean Heller who is running for the U.S.Senate in Nevada. Like Romney, he is a Mormon. Like Romney, he is a switch-hitter when it comes to protecting life:
"I'm a Mormon and I teach Sunday school every week, but I do back a woman's right to choose abortion. It is the conservative position." - Dean Heller (2006)
Like Romney, he now (six years later) claims to be pro-life. Maybe he is.
I will probably vote for Heller. I will not hold his "religion" against him. However, he should be tested as to the legitimacy of his pro-life conversion and he should be expected to answer for his earlier pro-abortion statements.
By the way, I won’t move this thread to the Religion Forum because I don’t want to burden the Religion Moderator with all this trash, but will move it out of the news forum per your request and to the backroom.
Says the secret OBAMA supporter!
Well; that would be the EFFECT; wouldn't it??
