I am so disgusted at the hypocrisy of these moderators; I've got nothing else to say!

I hate to see you go, sneakypete. Many long timers have left FR, and I miss them. I'll miss you.

Dang Pete. I disagree with you on this one but to see some of the people on my side of the fence and you on the other makes me wonder if I haven't screwed up somewhere.
Vaya con Dios.

So where you going ? And what's the big deal about being banned when you have cutouts ? Mr. Chapita ? Ask Sneakypete if it would have made more sense to just associate with people who were not beneath him ?
I've read much of the contribution you made here Pete . Some I liked . Some I did not . Some I learned from . Be good .

To Sneakypete;
I agree with a lot of what you said here, and disagree with a bit of it. As in the past, I disagree with you on the military aspects of a coming war. Though we may share a similar view on the politics of going into this war. But I especially think you are wrong leaving at this time. Your real world, feet on the ground type sanity is needed here more now, than at any time before. If I were JR, I would reject your resignation, while backing the moderators who suspended you by continuing that suspension. I would then take a hard look at finding a method of monitoring the monitors. But I'm not him.
Having flown to the top of Leghorn in Laos a good many times, I salute you for having climbed it on foot. Your past bravery equals that of anyone here at FR. That act alone, is deserving of a minimal degree of respect.
Tonight, the Flag at FreeRepublic, will not be flying quite as high. But it will keep flying.

sneakypete,
I won't read this whole thread...too much vinegar and not enough olive oil. But I do compliment you on your thread about your medical condition over the winter that you were good enough to share.
It reminds me of the way you jumped in on the DITHF thing back four years ago...you saw a thing that needed doing and did it. Not with the greatest finesse, or glib delicate sensibilities, but just with the tools you had available.
That is an ability that will be missed while it is away. Hope to see it around again.

Thanks for the post Chapita. I keep reading this wishing it wasn't so. Glad he's doing better.

So, in essence, battle's too difficult, the rules aren't fair and some 'innocents' might get hurt. I guess the FRee Republic forum is too much like life.
May you have happiness and the cause of happiness, sneakypete.

I am actually surprised to find ANYONE on this forum that opposes the war. Most of the war-related posts I've seen have contented themselves with French-bashing and vows to go get the evil Islamists. Maybe I haven't been lurking in the right threads to see others criticizing the so-called Patriot Act and other such things.
