I thought it'd been reported that the planned decriminalization initiative had been scuttled by drug czar John Walters' tireless efforts..
Not that I'm complaining if it's still on track...

To underline the point, Justice Minister Martin Cauchon will present his plan to U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft today.
Is Canada, now under U.S. control, or laws,
Who gives a darn, what Ashcroft says about Canada's laws.....

I thought it'd been reported that the planned decriminalization initiative had been scuttled by drug czar John Walters' tireless efforts.. There have been conflicting reports---this is the latest. (I suppose nothing's guaranteed until the government actually announces its plan.)

Execution by firing squad for possession of ANY amount would really increase our chances of winning the drug war.

I suspect that would really increase the chances of NORML activists getting elected to public office.

Fine with me, if they add on a mandantory 24 hours of detox classes to go with the fines.

...but in this country we have funny ideas about punishment being proportionate to the offense. Yes, I know. A murder offense (no priors) of 20 years can be reduced to 3 years with good behavior. The punishment for breaking laws is too lenient.

What's a "detox class" and why does every pot smoker need one?For that matter, how do you "detox" from something that isn't a toxin?
