I read a thread made about a year ago, where hollywood celebrities were being called all kinds of names because they opposed the USELESS Irar war. Why useless, read THIS :
SIX THOUSAND civilians in Africa die EVERYDAY due to AIDS, poverty and hunger. Let's see, 3000 people died on the day of the 9/11 crash. TWICE the number of people die EVERYDAY in Africa because of lack of food and amenities. As far as I know, the situation in Africa, is in order of 10000000000000 times worse than in Iraq. Infact, although a larger section of Iraq lives in poverty, it is,believe it or not,one of the economically BETTER developed countries in Asia. People in most countries in Asia, particularly in parts of South East Asia, and far eastern asia live in just ABJECT and UNSPEAKABLY BAD poverty, it has to be seen to be believed. However, this is nothing compared to the situation in Central Africa, where living conditions approach the ZENITH. The average person in Iraq can afford to eat no more than two small meals a day. While families in these parts of Africa have to sometimes contend with one meal in THREE days!!!
And you talk about the brutality of Saddam? FYI , last year in a state called "Guajarat" in India(a country with which the US claims to have "strong relations" with, right now) over 20,000 muslims were killed by DEMOCRATICALLY elected leaders in span of THREE days. That's more than what Saddam killed in the last decade of his regime! And what about Pol Pot, under whose regime ONE million Cambodians mercilessly lost their lives? Did USA do ANYTHING about him? And in countries like Sierra Leone and Uganda, the brutality inflicted on people is such, it could make you faint. Atleast people in Iraq have some kind of administration, even be it a dictatorial regime that quells freedom of expression. However, in these parts of Africa, there IS no solid form of administration at all. Farmers grow crops, and host of military gangs simply come to the village and steal the crops. These farmers can do NOTHING about it. These military gangs also take about 50% of the women in every village they go, as sexual slaves. Any man who objects to his wife or daughter being captured has his limbs cut off. And to date, over 30,000 men in Africa have had their limbs chopped off by these gangs.
YOU look at these facts and tell me who needs liberation more? The Africans or Iraqis? If the American Government had ANY intention of helping people in the world, it would have "liberated" the people in central africa or south-far-eastern asia first! Please! Iraq seems like HEAVEN in front of these nations! Anyone who says that Iraq needed liberation is IRRESPONSIBLE, as he is NOT caring for people who need the help of the US MUCH MUCH more!! ------------------------------------------------ So we had ONE WTC attack which destroyed 3000 lives. Guess what?!?! Two tragedies equivalent to the WTC attacks happen in parts of the world EVERYDAY!!
You people REALLY REALLY do not know what is going on in the rest of the world. What these people are saying is : If the money spent on warfare is used to FEED people across the world, MANY MANY MANY more lives can be saved! Before trying to get rid of Saddam Hussain(a person who has travelled around the world will realize that he is, believe it or not, one of the BETTER dictators in this world) WHY are we ignoring feeding starving people(present US Aid funds are very very low, compared to what it is CAPABLE of giving) Or EVEN if you want to punish, names of dicatators MUCH MUCH worse (some have killed more than 20 times the people Saddam has) have lived in this world, and some still continue to live, but the US Government has done NOTHING about them. To say that the people of Iraq needed liberation more than anybody else is LAUGHABLE.
You will soon be liberated from your account...
Mr and Mrs John Kerry Heinz, George Soros, Bill Gates, Barbara Streisand and friends could feed all these people with their billions. Why don't they do it? Stingy coldhearted bastards.
Somebody call animal control and dart this s.o.b.
You may have been out of town that week, but you see the Islamofascists ATTACKED the US. Other than Islamofascists no one else in Africa has attacked the US. End of discussion.
Well if we are doing body counts, how about the 4500 Americans everyday who die in abortion clinics? Two go in, one at most comes out.
I smell ozone.
Exactly, they and the person who posted this are the ultimate hypocrites.
Pass the cheese.
"To say that the people of Iraq needed liberation more than anybody else is LAUGHABLE."
True, totally true.... because they have been liberated, courtesy of The US Army, Marines, USAF, and Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld's gonads.
... much easier (and sexier) to b#$ch about the sexy silk panty treatment the killers have been getting. Perhaps they are jealous they can't get the same treatment at taxpayer expense.
or is it power they are lusting after?
Yep, does the person who posted this suggest we kill abortion doctors? Their logic is very lacking.
My my...sounds a bit racist to me. ZOT bait.
But, but, using their own wealth wouldn't be conducive to promoting their elitist agenda.
BTW, what does ZOT stand for anyway?
Why don't you hightale your ass over to Africa and fix the problem instead of pissing and moaning on this site? I know why-all you and your kind know how to do is whine and complain-you show no results whatsoever!
U.S. District Court judge Harold Baer has made a legal finding that Iraq was behind the 9-11 attacks. His ruling was upheld by the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals.
Cool. They'd get my vote too.
Ok, taje a deep breath... that's right, the Thorazine will kick in in a minute or two....
and remember, the Doctor is your Friend!!!
They had logic? I gave up on this article to quickly.
"The wheel has turned, and it is time... It is time for you to go.. "
And how is AIDS and hunger in Africa our fault? Did we steal their food and infect them with AIDS? What have the bleeding heart liberals done about those poor souls in Africa? I don't recall the first black President, Bill Clinton doing anything to help.
It's how Viking Kitties say "Death to trolls!"

I can't understand why this author is still sitting on his duff writing simple minded essays for publication. Why isn't he doing something to benefit the poor folks in Aftica.
We know what's to be done. Heritage Foundation publishes their annual list of nations in the world in order of most free to least free. All free nations are prosperous, all unfree nations are poor. No exceptions!
Michael Moore ate them!

In 3...2..1...thread pulled !!
Is Africa and India out to kill us too!!!!!!
I read something saying it was suspended but now its up again.
No one is stopping you from giving every last dime to them.
I would encourage you to do so, before you go sucking it out of MY pocket.
Hold on a minute here, I think this guy is right. There are *all sorts* of countries that need us to invade them! Why stingily constrain our magnamity to Iraq when we could also invade Cambodia, India, China, Cuba... the list goes on. Hearken to his wisdom, there is but little time to invade them all!
If the money spent on warfare is used to FEED people across the world, MANY MANY MANY more lives can be saved!
Newsflash, people under despotic regimes have a greater propensity to starve, regardless of how much famine relief we are inclined to provide. Iraq, North Korea, et al., are more interested in having large militaries than feeding their people. And in Africa, warlords hijack food shipments. So if we want to feed the starving peoples of Africa, we have to kill the warlords first. Of course, you libs cry foul whenever we try to use our military to help oppressed peoples, so fat chance of *that* ever happening. . .
Yep, those amenities are vital to sustaining life! I know I'd just die without access to the weight room, swimming pool, tennis courts, and clubhouse.
Did your mother have any children that lived?
Obviously a HS freshman who's teacher loaded him down with this poop and hasn't bothered to research anything else. It sounds good; its more humanistic; and, since people like this have the burning desire to say and do things that impress other people, liberalism idiocy is just the ticket.
There are MANY MANY MANY problems with using money spent on the war for feeding people "across the world." The first problem is that the money never gets to be spent to buy the food and feed people. The people are starving because they have a tyrannical government that's oppressing them, and those leaders have a vested interest in keeping them from being fed and whatever else. Second, after the food is gone, they will be right back to the same situation they were in before the food drive. Hungry and being slaughtered when convenient. Do we continue to feed them, in spite of the fact that they can't and won't help themselves? Third, once countries like Iran, North Korea, and the former Iraq (not to mention any looney group from the middle east hiding who knows where) know that American money will be spent on a We are the World project rather than to defend ourselves, it will be open season on all things American. Finally, our only business in this world should be to protect our own interests. Dependance begets more dependance. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings or isn't the feel good answer your teacher expects, but it is the truth.
Have you looked at why AIDS so rampant in Sub-Saharan Africa?
The tribes put faith in their shaman, and avoid evil western medicine.
The touted cure is to have sexual intercourse with a young virgin.
For the men, a monogamous sexual relationship is nearly synonymous with homosexuality - homosexuality being the lesser of the two. A real man has sex with as many partners as possible.
Until these attitudes change, AIDS will continue to kill blacks in Africa. No amount of money will change that.
