I Just Got Back From A Visit To San Diego How F*cking Depressing. The weather was gorgeous but that was the ONLY thing besides my children that I enjoyed. What a zombie town full of Rednecks and Stepfords. Interesting. In a couple weeks I am going on a field trip with my daughter and other kids and parents to...San Diego. I've been kind of dreading it as it entails an all night bus ride and I'm well past the age where this idea sounds appealing (travel bus, not school bus, thank goodness). However, I am now buoyed up by this DUmmie post. I can't wait to see all the Rednecks and Stepfords!

Twisted yellow ribbon magnets on cars means..."I support the Republican/Bu$h/NeoCON agenda and all you anti-war, liberal, commie motherf*ckers can rot in hell. Praise the lord."
That is exactly what I wanted my Yellow Ribbon to say - but I couldn't fit it all on there.

"A friend stole one..."
My best friend and I each have a son in the military. We each have one of those ribbons on our trucks. We parked side by side and went into a restaurant for dinner one night. Part way through the meal, we noticed a commotion in the parking lot, then that the commotion seemed centered around our trucks. We went out to investigate. Someone pulling into the lot had noticed this guy stealing the magnets off our trucks and had called the police and restrained the culprit. The police charged the thief too, no urging on our part. He had been stealing them and reselling them.

"Besides that, I personally don't care what someone else puts on the back of THEIR car. It just amazes me that some people would get so worked up about it. It is a complete waste of time to complain because there is nothing anyone else can do about it (except vandalism, which the DUmmies have discussed at length before)."
Ditto. I'm always amazed that they get so worked up when someone expresses an opinion. The contents of other people's bumpers has never been an issue in my life.

These people hate America. The FBI should have a file on all of them

I have never put a bumper sticker on my car. I use those stickers to identify idiots. II saw these on a car 2 days ago & knew the woman was a moron:
"NO ASSAULT WEAPONS, STOP THE NRA"
"I am a MOM & I Vote, Million Mom March"
I laughed as I walked by wondering if she parks that vehicle in her driveway to alert predators that she is unarmed.

Me too. I think the whole ribbon/bracelet thing is overdone, tacky, and not my style. Sometimes I think it just becomes the trendy "thing to do," and the car ribbons are manufactured more for profit than patriotism or to promote somebody's business.
I have one on my truck and my H2. My daughter (a now disabled Iraq War vet) and other soldiers have told me that they find seeing those ribbons uplifting and appreciate the support. I basically do it for them.

The Iraqi oil fields NO LONGER belong to the terrorists. Thats how. Er, the wells in the Middle East that are actually pumping most of the oil at the moment most certainly do belong to the terrorists (or, more precisely, to states that either openly or tacitly support them). You stumbled on this one, old chap.

A friend had one of these
plus some Bush/Cheney and "W" stickers on his SUV in Portland, Oregon before the election. Some very liberal friends of his were moving to another apartment and borrowed his vehicle for the day. They brought it back to him that evening and commented that they had no idea how nasty liberals treated conservatives in Portland. It was a real eye opener for his liberal friends.

Did you read Al Gore's movie review of Luther?
Charles Hendricksen may not have, but I did - added the link to them to my own blog, as well... I think my favorite was the review of
Terminator 3.

My car's got plenty of stuff in the back window: "Religious fundamentalism: a threat abroad; a threat at home" and "Your kid is next" with Bush giving a knowing look, and "Why do conservatives hate so many Americans?" and "Flag, schmag! I (heart) the Constitution!" and a great one that's a takeoff on a popular redneck theme: Calvin pissing on a Bush campaign logo. But I am not one who finds identity through my choice of vehicle; I've got an old junker so folks can key away. [
Oh please come to Tennessee and bring your car.
