"I'm already a Christian but they need to f*ck off. "
Sounds happy doesn't it/he/she?
Actually, you have something there.
Conservative book publishers tend to look at the market of those interested in "serious" conservative politics, and no further.
I get the impression the DUmmie FUnnies book would sell rather well among those NOT especially interested in politics, or only mildly interested--the garage mechanic, the bartendress, the truck driver, the assembly-line worker, the mailman, the seamstress, the grocer, the Vietnamese immigrant, the Nebraska farmer, &c., &c., &c.
There are all sorts of "markets" that could be exploited for the DUmmie FUnnies; the serious conservatives who like a little bit of light reading once in a while; those not especially interested in politics but in humor; psychologists and psychiatrists and sociologists interested in researching personal and social dysfunction (the DUmmies are a goldmine); and even the DUmmies themselves, who as we all know, read the DUmmie FUnnies on Free Republic religiously, hoping to see their own names.
Admittedly, the market among medical professionals would be small, but the market among those not interested, or only mildly interested, in politics, is enormously large.
So...we're all keeping Bush's re-election a secret from the rest of the country?
What a strange thread that was.
"They told us to stop rubbing their noses in defeat and we did it."
You're right! I remember that. They were so upset that we were happy!
That thread in DUmmieland is still alive, but just barely.
The Grand DUmmie "Skinner" must gnash his teeth in vexation at you, P.J., for killing so many DUmmie threads.
Is this person for real? This is a joke, right? Please tell me that people really don't think like this.
Unfortunately, Chief, this is actually "mainstream" thought among the DUmmies, and there's many even wilder, even more preposterous, than this.
I sure hope I have better luck than President Kerry.
All you have to do is "visualize". Isn't that how they do it over there? *snicker*

142. ... Honestly, BB was asking a rhetorical question so while it may look to you like an answer was wanted, it really wasn't... I think secondarily, BB was hoping that just one freeper (many, many, many lurk here) would read the post and actually have an epiphany...
You know, there are so many DUmmies that lurk here in Free Republic, and so many members of Free Republic, Republicans, and conservatives, that lurk in DUmmieland (the latter are perhaps 40,000 of the alleged 68,000 DUmmies), one wonders if perhaps Jim Robinson of Free Republic and the Grand DUmmie "Skinner" should have a sit-down to discuss ways and means of facilitating this traffic between the two sites.
The only "down" side is that it would bring Free Republic down to the damp dark subterranean level of DUmmieland, and so no, we don't want that, so forget this idea.
By the way, I get the impression that the Grand DUmmie "Skiner" is secretly embarrassed that a site intended to be serious about politics ended up being a roach-trap for DUmmies to squiggle and squirm in.
But no enterprise in life turns out as it is "planned" to turn out.
I think you are right about this. Remember that link I posted in the last two weeks with Skinner's response about high-profile Dems being part of DU? He said something like he thinks it's a good idea for them NOT to because DU is nuts (he didn't use that word, but I can't remember what it was). He has also been hard on the DUmmies over the Jeff Gannon thing, because they went so far around the bend. Skinner is running an online asylum and I think he knows it!
Maybe they chould create a neutral site as a joint venture, where DUmmies and FReepers can both post to each other. It would have to be patrolled by the language police, of course, which would seriously limit the DUmmies vocabularies.
We'll make them a deal... if they can post without dropping F bombs, we won't post pictures of our cats. Think that would work?
Wow, they are the most delusional bunch of people I have ever seen! ALL of thier rants in that thread apply directly back to them. Amazing.
But what is he to do, the whole Democratic asylum is being run by the patients. The elitists have lost all control and the Democratic party is a bunch of loony loose cannons and the only thing they really seem to share is their extreme paranoia of Christianity.
No, not really.
What it would do would diminish the high stature of Free Republic, and elevate DUmmieland to a level it does not deserve.
Few things irritate me more than these comparisons of Free Republic as being the "right-wing" or "conservative" counterpart to DUmmieland.....when in fact that comparison is about as valid as comparing a big healthy fresh watermelon to a rotten peach.
Free Republic is much larger than DUmmieland, Free Republic has political sentiments more in line with the general overall average population than DUmmieland.
If DUmmies seek their "right-wing" or "conservative" counterpart, given the extremity of the usual DUmmie philosophies and comments, I suggest they look at web-sites boosting the Ku Klux Klan or something, as those more accurately mirror DUmmies and DUmmie attitudes, than does this mildly-right-of-center web-site.
Free Republic recognizing DUmmieland as a legitimate entity, and an equal to Free Republic, would be about as absurd as when the James Carter administration recognized the absurd (and short-lived) "Central African Empire" in 1977.
What idiots. My last epiphany came when I moved out of Texas into DUmmieland and saw you guys for the first time.
That epiphany turned me from a squishy "moderate" dem into a fire-breathing, nail-spitting conservative.
Why else would we want the average reader to see the DUmmies in action? :-)
