In my opinion, its "its", not "it's."

Just an observation. My reference is the Bible.

Oh, yeah.. that whole Nixon thing, or was it a New Zealand thing?

Have a look at my post number 3, and read each link from the top - they are in chronological order.

The sequence goes like this: the former Police Commissioner of the New Zealand Police force, Peter Doone, stepped down in 2000 after an incident that damaged his reputation. It emerged that he was defamed by a mysterious "public figure" providing leaks to the public, and these leaks were afbricated. It now emerges the that "public figure" is the Labour (leftist) Prime Minister Helen Clark herself and she is now declaring by definition she cannot do anything illegal.

This could be the event that topples Labour later this year.

And I think "it's" is correct since in this context it is a contraction of "it is" rather than a possessive pronoun. From my school English grammar lessons.

"Have a look at my post number 3"

I think perhaps not.

Feel free to demonize another Republican President. Take your pick.

I don't mind.

I'm just sitting here waiting.

So how far does sovereign immunity extend in Kiwiland, then? Can he drag her into court for defamation, or is he just stuck making nasty faces at her in the papers? That is, she may be right in a sense - if she can't be sued for such a thing, she can't be held legally responsible.

Of course, asserting sovereign immunity, even if the law allows it, is likely to be a political nightmare - it tends to have bit too much of that droit du seigneur feel for many people.

Whatsoever for?

As Canada's Liberals have learned from America's Democrats, it's no longer necessary to adhere to traditional standards of winning and losing. Instead, regardless of the circumstances, the left always wins -- even when it loses.

Surely, New Zealand's Labour party is capable of learning and emulating. It's bigger than mere country...

,,, that's the way it's set up for the President of France, but I doubt she'll get away with it. She dumped Leanne Dalzell for being economic with the truth - one size fits all.

I think the timing of this - about four months out from the elections is superb. I just know Doone will have no problem with funding the Court costs [wink, wink].

,,, as of a couple of weeks ago it seemed not far enough. Her staff advised she would be out of the country when the Court case came up - at that stage no date had been set LOL!!

Well, that does seem to indicate a bit of worry on their part ;)

So why was she supposedly trashing this guy in the press? Some sort of personality conflict, he's in a different political party, he stood her up for a date once - what would motivate her to do this?

,,, she's been busy stacking political appointees throughout Wellington's corridors of power. He didn't fit the mold. Ideally she wants a womyn as commisioner of police - every other position on high is held by womyn since she's been Prime Monster.

Maybe it's just me, but "compliant vegetarian corridor eunuch" doesn't exactly sound like what I'd look for in a police commissioner. For some reason, I'm reminded of the Monty Python sketch about groovin' in the Royal Nayvee ;)

<< Did Dick really say that? >>

Probably not, would be my guess. [IE: I don't know]

Former president Nixon's worst sin insofar as the "Democrats" were/are concerned was in revealing and confirming and proving beyond a reasonable doubt that Rudolph Hess and all of his ilk throughout the Roosefelt and Truman "administrations" were agents of the Soviet Union.

After that and until today there was/is no blood libel whose employment could not/will not be rationalized and justified by the dims and by their activist-media wing.

Mr Nixon's sin insofar as we proud members of the Vast Right Wing Conspiricy and other Republicans were/are concerned was his proposing and promulgating and promoting policies, including price and wage controls, that made him indisguishable FRom the socialist "Democrats" he intuitively so despised!

And now, we are asked to believe, it is discovered that Helen Klark, New Zealand's leader-of-the-minute of that once proud land's class of "persons" and other criminals whose members make their careers from lying to those too stupid to know and/or too greedy and/or too bloody mean-spirited to care they are being lied to?

My, my.

Now that IS a suprise!

Yawn .....

Blessings -- Brian
