Might be wise to purchase that remote unimproved land for a bugout destination. As long as it has water, the rest can be dealt with in time. Someplace remote, which is off of the refugee track.

I have caches at different ranges and different points of the compass at friend homes or other property. The distant ones are based on most mileage capable with my vehicles and carried fuel w/o refueling. Closest is one days walking distance if left afoot......
I'll check back this evening....gotta go play !

During the Y2K insanity - my dad was at a dinner party with his idiot new wife's friends. They were comparing notes about what they were stockpiling in preparation of the complete societal breakdown at midnight 1/1/2000.
When the conversation came to dear old dad - they asked him what he was gathering... dad said, bullets.
Bullets? Why?
Because with my bullets, I can have all of the things you are hording.
Dad was an NRA member.... ;^)

Well that usually only works if the people your are looting from don't have ammo of their own. Age old proverb "If you go looking for trouble you will find it" Another shameless quote "Many of you think you are bad asses, You are not" I am hoping that you are not advocating stealing others supplies at gunpoint. I realize that you dad had a catchy saying but to really act on it is........

Did anything happen on 1/1/2000?
I'll assume dad didn't need his bullets. He was just remarking at the stupidity of the Y2K insanity.
These people were gathering 50# bags of rice.... he thought it was stupid.
I do not advocate anything except sex, beer and rock and roll. ;-)
