A very astute observation of the debate.. whenever I “debate” this issue with an “anti-war” individual, I always ask the question. If we completely wipped out terrorism would you then agree that we did the right thing, and declare a victory for us? THE SAD ANSWER is always NO.. we should have done it sooner, it cost too much money, it cost too many lives..etc..etc..etc..etc...

Thanks.. and I can't be more serious about that... Congress has EVERY RIGHT to decide to FUND or NOT FUND the war on terror... they DO NOT have the right to dictate HOW those funds are spent.. that crosses the line of separation of powers... THE PRESIDENT - Whoever that may be now and in the FUTURE decides (with a LOT OF ADVICE I MIGHT ADD) HOW to spend the money, and the COMMANDERS on the GROUND make the TACTICAL DECISIONS... THAT is they way it works.. this whole debate is KILLING US !! Literaly -- because it UNDERMINES the authority of our COMMANDERS on the ground !

AGAIN, my message to CONGRESS -- FUND THE WAR -- or DON'T FUND THE WAR --- PERIOD.. and if you choose to NOT fund it.. God have mercy on you !

The sad part is the Dem-controlled Congress is turning it’s back on our troops for POLITICAL reasons. They embolden the enemy for POLITICAL reasons. They risk your life and the lives of all military personnel for POLITICAL reasons. They risk the lives of American citizens for POLITICAL reasons.

I don’t remember anything like it until very recent history. It seems both parties would unify when it came to fighting our enemies. What happened to PATRIOTISM from these partisan politicians?

And if anything happens because they turned their backs on our troops or American citizens for POLITICAL reasons, they should be held ACCOUNTABLE.
