Im not trying to provoke you man, im trying to engage you. :)
I’m not claiming that ever Paul supporter has it right, or that even Paul has it right, i’m trying to lay out my argument for why i think Paul has it most right.
To: Dreddnafious
the as before part was, referring to your ad hominem to someone else when i intially responded to you.
You’re a smart dude, calling someone crazy or stupid isn’t the best you can do.
To: Dreddnafious
Well I have no real issues with about 90% of Paul’s stances, but there are others that represent those as well. But when it comes to defending this Country at this time and place he is dead wrong, and that is one type of wrong I wish to avoid.
he’s attractiveness to the Moveon/DU crowd should be a clue for any American serious about the WOT.
That’s my bottom line, the same as the one on the opening pages of this very forum...

I don’t recall anyone crazy or stupid, indeed I was the one called “small minded” and such, so I really don’t get your point.
If it is the whole Paulinati bit, well i stand by that. Seems Team Paul around here has a real bad habit of trying to talk down to us mortals while they fling open the 8th grade civics book and spout off terms and such...

First, no matter how hard you attempt to twist in the wind, I refuse to allow you to incorrectly state my opinion.
I am not judging Paul on only one issue. There are issues I agree with him and those I disagree. It isn’t reserved to national security.
What is particularly irritating is that you insult me by saying my conservatism isn’t authentic. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Contrary to the rhetoric you Paulbearers spout, HE IS NOT THE ONLY CONSERVATIVE IN THE RACE.
Would he be better than any democrat, well, of course. That’s not really the issue.
I found it fascinating that Guy Fawkes day was chosen as the date for your fundraiser. Why choose a British Terrorist’s Day? I find that very telling, whether it was tongue in cheek or not.

The reason to not support Ron Paul is that he's insane.
It is understandable that you might oppose Ron Paul's views on the war in Iraq, but it is INSANE for you to say that Ron Paul is insane. It does not speak well for the validity of your opinions and comments.

No question, its a big tent. Libertys a damn big tent man. A pre 9/11 antiwar mentality is not "Liberty."

It does not speak well for the validity of your opinions and comments. Ohhh....great come back, but it still doesn't address Ron Paul's lack of sanity. Believe me, I'm not trying to minimize him or be cute...I am fully convinced he is not sane. No joke.

I can see why Ron Paul signs are frequently seen at moonbat rallies...Ron Paul supporters and the left wing moonbats obviously share the same distaste for free speech and seek to silence dissenting views.

My kids are young adults and Ron Paul is the most popular candidate with their friends, most of whom have a natural left bent.
The same is true of my son except that he goes to Texas A & M and is libertarian and largely conservative. He has given 100s of his own hard earned dollars to the campaign, and cannot wait to get to get our and campaign.
If the Republican party continues to seek to destroy Ron Paul to the point of running an opponent in his congressional campaign, it will bitterly alienate a generation of young people.

If Ron Paul doesnt win the primary, what will be the reaction of his supporters?
If he loses in a fair fight, there will be disappointment but most will move on to the next most liberty-oriented Republican candidate.
If he is specifically targeted by the Republican party for not just defeat but destruction to the point that he even loses his congressional seat, there will be many, many, many who will never vote Republican again, especially the young generation.

There is possibly lots of drug money to be given to libertarian leaning candidates. They tend to support no laws against recreational drugs and that might be impressive to the drug lords and drug abusers.
You have it exactly backwards. If the libertarian goal of legalization of drugs were to become reality, drug lords would lose all of their power and fortunes. They have power and fortune for one reason and one reason only: drugs are illegal. Drug lords most certainly support Republicans monetarily and otherwise. Remember Mena?

He has a very poor grasp on reality. That's not it. Like many of the candidates he is not keeping up with current events and keeps going back to the old, fossil record. Whoever ends up in the WH needs to be both up-to-date and fully aware of topics that are not beaten to death every hour on MSM news broadcast.

Well, if i spent my time apologizing for ill informed Paul supporters I wouldn’t have very much left of a day.
I’m trying to make a conservative argument for a Paul presidency, and i believe my position is well founded in conservative principals, and “to the right” of many people that claim to despise socialism.
To: Dreddnafious
True, true, same with ill informed anyone.
Yes, there is a conservative case to be made for RP, I can even buy some of it. But the Anti war bit just sours the mix way too much.
