Operative Q&A
GIBSON: Do we have a debate tomorrow night?
MCCAIN: Well I’m hopeful, very hopeful that we can. I believe that it’s very possible that we can get an agreement so that — in time for me to fly to Mississippi. I understand that there is a lot of attention on this but I also wish Senator Obama had agreed to ten or more town hall meetings that I had asked him to attend with me. Wouldn’t be quite that much urgency if he agreed to do that, instead he refused to do it.
Nice, nice shot, Senator McCain
Very groovy response.
Hoo yah! So it over and over again, Mac!
After what he did to Palin, why would they even agree to talk with that arrogant, biased bastard?
MCCAIN sounds fantastic!!
McCain treads on thin ice if he signs onto a Dodd/Frank legislation that bails out everybody and has a massive central government determine who gets paid what for their labor.
McCain will lose the base if he agrees with those who created the mortgage crisis in the first place.
McCain delivered a body blow to the stuffed shirt Gibson.
Gibson asked him if he would be at the debate tomorrow night.
McCain answered by saying the focus on the debates would not be so great if Obama had agreed to participate with Mac in the Town Meetings.
Gibson changed the topic with the next question.
Because McCain has been doing this a long time and can easily make gibson look like the fool that he is
> After what he did to Palin, why would they even agree to
> talk with that arrogant, biased bastard?
To make him face a man, instead of a girl.
McCain flattened the stuffed Giblet.
Has anyone written a projected chronology of how events would unfold if there were no bailout?
Thanks. Haven’t heard “groovy” in a while. Let me guess. You were born in 1951.
Not even close. ;)

Why don’t you do it ~ since you would be guessing just like everyone else?
You could do karnak!
Lurking’
Meanwhile Obama slinks away and wants a pointless debate on foreign policy.
So politically McCain scores, now if he crafts together a better deal then he gets a big boost on this issue.
Well played so far.

A darn good question...as many different opinions as there are Freepers. I personally believe things could be 1974 bad, but not 1933 bad.
I posited this on another thread, under the hypothesis that things really are that close to a meltdown.
If I had enormous investments right now, and a public podium, and really wanted to make out like a bandit, I would NEVER advocate anything structural to really fix the crisis.
What I would do is scare the crap out of everyone and insist that a quick infusion of Treasury cash would do the trick.
If I got it, I'd wait a few days for the relieved small investors to pump the markets up, up, up.
As soon as the time was right, I'd sell out. Like a greased weasel. All my buds, too.
Boom! 1933 the sequel. And I'm Papa Joe Kennedy on steroids. Reform all you want, after I get that done.
FU McLIBERAL. Go join the 'Rat party you senile media lap dog. Go straight to hell and do not collect $200. Get this senile old fool out of here. A pathetic 'Rat water carrier.
Leet the man do his work before slamming him, McCain hasnt even finished yet and quite frankly would you prefer the Dems to just ram through their bill without saying anything.
No one else seems to be challenging them.
