October 15, 2008 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Today, KDKA Radio in Pittsburgh, PA, the oldest radio station in the country, and a CBS affiliate, censored Kevin Miller, one of its conservative talk show hosts while he was on the air. The station management cited complaints by Obama supporters and the Obama campaign as the reason that they are asking talk show host, Kevin Miller to "rethink" the direction of his show over the course of the next two weeks leading up to the campaign. They humiliated and threatened him on the air today in what can only be called an act of extortion. They have offered three hours of air time to Senator Obama sans the presence of Kevin Miller or any other KDKA talk show host. NO questions will be asked. Senator Obama will be allowed to speak without interruption. This is completely appalling and a perfect example of the main stream media bias for Senator Obama. If KDKA and CBS are concerned with equality and freedom of speech, they should be offering the same uninterrupted air time to Senator McCain. What will happen to freedom of speech and the conservative pundits in the course of an Obama presidency? It is frightening to consider. Please let people know about this.

NO questions will be asked. Senator Obama will be allowed to speak without interruption. Doesn't the law require that Senator McCain be given the same opportunity?

This is a harbinger of what’s coming.
Talk Radio as we know it today will be gone or underground.

Oh, I really hope they’re trying to make the point.
All stations that carry conservative programming should pull this same “demonstration” of what will happen when 0bama gets the “fairness” doctrine implemented.

I think it’s just a DUmmie troll trying to get FReepers upset. You’d think they’d be busy and all be partying over Dick Cheney’s heart problems, wouldn’t you, instead of hanging out here?
(Just checked DU—yep, they’re hoping Cheney’s got cancer and other things too nasty to be mentioned in polite company.)

Internet radio? Don’t be so sure. Like anti-Obama blogs, BlogTalkRadio shows are starting to get shut-down, too.
To: misspittsburgh
This seems unreal, even for the MSM. Also, it does not seem to be supported at the link provided.
Please link to the exact article where this is mentioned, or, are these your own words?
To: pillut48; chippewaman
I think its just a DUmmie troll trying to get FReepers upset. Not a troll, just a newbie.
This is legitimate. It happened shortly after the 2 o'clock hour.
I wouldn't be surprised if Miller is sitting on it right now for fear of his job.

The only other mention I could find of this was from the
Puma-up People site.
In response to complaints about the bias shown by afternoon talk show host, Kevin Miller, on KDKA radio in Pittsburgh, the CBS Parent Company had the local station manager come on the air during todays 2:00 hour to announce that the station will offer 3 hours of Kevins air time to Senator Obama to use as he would like.
Here is the link to
KDKA Radio. I am out of country at the moment, but if this is true there will be hell to pay a Gateway Center when I get back.

Ok yes, I saw your post after mine, however it seems as if it may be an example of what the “Fairness Doctrine” would bring, and not actual action on CBS’s part.
Did Miller say anything about this? Was he cut off abruptly? Even if he was cut off abruptly, then it could still be a “stunt” as described. Which, I’m not saying is a bad idea to illustrate what the “Fairness Doctrine” could do, but still, is not what the OP claimed.
I think cooler heads should prevail here; we must wait and see what the real story is. Radio personalities do stuff like this from time to time to draw attention to either themselves or a certain cause. It doesn’t necessarily mean CBS pulled the plug...
...UNLESS, again, misspittsburgh or you have some other source that confirms the claim made in the OP.

Our great country is being attacked from without and within.
Muslims around the world call us the great satan.
Europe wants us neutered.
Russia, Iran and Venezuela think they can intimidate us.
And the dims and the msm’s are fixin’ to corronate a freaking Socialist.
Who will give into everything they want.
And the fairness doctrine is just the first attempt to permanently alter the First Amendment.
I think Ben Franklin said it best:
IF WE DON’T HANG TOGETHER, THEN WE WILL SURELY HANG SEPERATELY.

I was listening but I'm not buying its real. Kevin Miller is a Republican but he is always respectful of callers and people with different views. Honsberger who is on after him has been on the offensive against Libs for years @ KDKA. No one has tried to shut him down.

DUmmies are so pathetic and desperatee to have their marxist agenda padded by having Obama Hussean elected, it’s almost funny. BUT WE — the pro-American people — should call welfare offices and have them follow up on their welgfare claims - ask why these bottom-feeders are still on welfare and NOT looking for full time employment, as they should. All they do is live online while taking from our taxes (welfare) They are milking the system and opening brag about it. ******These DU RAT trolls are easily talking about trolling FreeRepublic and preparing to massively RIG ALL online polls tonight, as they have flooded them in the past two debates. Just check in on these clowns and read how proud they are for manipulating these national and local polls...they have lists of polls organizing as we speak.....again, their sense of false hope. LOL!!!!!! Bottomline: These leeches on society are sad, pathetic libs have no where else to gain their false sense of hope...a very insecure group of nobody’s. Truly disgraceful bottom-feeders of our society. (Wait a minute, I think I need to puke now!) ********Take a look at the Dummies POLLS

I'm not sure exactly what happened. I caught the last 2 minutes of his show. He said management offered Obama to host his time slot for a day without Kevin Miller being present. Fred Honsberger came on after and confirmed the story and said it was management picking on the new guy. Fred said they would never try anything like that with him.
Still waiting for the text of the on air statement. This is a real story from the radio and I'm doubtful it's a staged event. Time will tell.
