It’s All Up To Them Now
The Virginian ^ | 11/5/2008 | Moneyrunner

The country has just won a war in Iraq. That’s the good news.

But the global economy is a mess. The US auto industry is having the worst sales since 1945 and could well go bankrupt. Banks are failing right and left. People have seen their retirement funds drop by half. Hundreds of thousand find themselves out of work, and that number will rise as the first real recession in decades grips the country. Russia is rising again and challenging the US. Iran is building a nuclear bomb, threatening to wipe Israel off the map, and I have just scratched the surface of the problems facing the leadership of this country.

And we have just elected a rookie Senator whose executive experience consists of pissing away over $100 million dollars to improve Chicago’s schools with no measurable effect … oh, and running a successful campaign for the Presidency. Our next leaders will be Obama, Pelosi and Reed.

My only hope is that they will not be as inept and wrongheaded as they have been in the past. Because they are in control and are totally responsible for whatever decisions are made.

The left is celebrating the upcoming re-distribution of wealth. Many members of the Right are trying to be gracious in congratulations. I will not do that because my image of the country over the next few years is the city of Detroit, writ large. We may just have elected a slimmer, more polished version of Kwame Kilpatrick. Do we deserve that?

Me, I have spent some time in prayer. This has not been a particularly virtuous country in the last half-century as measured by traditional values of respect for life, sexual morality and reverence for God. Perhaps it is time for us to wander in the wilderness. I hope it does not last for 40 years.

Well, for the next four years, the Dems will be handed a lot of rope with which to hang themselves. All we can do is just batten down the hatches and ride it out, until they make such a royal hash out of it that people will wonder why that ever voted for that Obama idiot in the first place.

Definitely let us not hold back on the finger pointing when they screw up.

No. Our rapid Obama pull-out from the Middle East will result in losing both Iraq and Afghanistan. There will then be attacks here.

A very good choice of words. It is a truth. America is in for some humbling circumstances in the near future. Hopefully many will turn to God in the next several years rather than curse Him.

You know, it’s been so long since the Carter years that people forgot what it was like...or were too young or weren’t around yet...must be time for another dose of that.

Duuuuude, it all about hope and change. That and love will bring down all of the bad vibes and the whole world will just mellow out and get high off of the Obama weed.

And if they dont like hope and change, then we will just combine them and make Chope or Hange!

Time to bet on the over/under about the size of the National Debt before it all comes crashing down like the Tower of Babel.

I'll take 19.8 Trillion - by then, the whole world will have passed us by, and our public sector employment will have finally outnumbered private sector employment.

I always likeed the fact that I was born halfway through the Carter administration.

So I can say that I didnt have to engage in hard drugs in order to get through it, and not remember anything about it.

“Russia is rising again and challenging the US”

We should have listened to that Khrushchev fellow “Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you ... Nikita Khrushchev, remark at the Polish embassy in Moscow, Nov. 18, 1956”.

They fouled our fields with Pueraria lobata (Kudzo), yet we did nothing, because our yields were high, even after our yields began to decline we still did nothing to root out the invasive vine. Now our fields are choked with this cursed vine and our crops are threatened, what shall we do?

It doesn't help that the only time it seems like Christians in this country get serious about praying FOR our country is a month before an election when it looks like a guy we don't like might win. II Chronicles 7:14 doesn't just apply to election cycles!

I’m afraid that only another 911 will break the spell that Hussein has cast on the idiots in this country.

Its all on the Democrats now. If this economy doesn't turn around and we get attacked and Russia invades or Iran goes wild its on Democrats.

They ran against Bush now we can run against a WHOLE PARTY.

It will also result in a catastrophic drop in the morale of the U.S military. Think “Fall of Saigon”.

Somebody asked yesterday where do conservatives go when this happens? The elite snobbery all say they’re moving to Canada or France. Guess I’ll be moving to Texas. They should have never joined the union.

If I was in the military I would be looking for a quick way out. Let the Hussein sickos defend their new messiah.
BUT....since liberals are wimps they won’t sign up... so 0 will have to reinstate the draft...there goes the youth vote...lol...

You absolutely said it!! I was saying to myself last night on my drive home from work, I remember how everyone rallied around Bush 9/12/01. I tried to picture Al Gore being the one who would have to comfort the Country.

Yep, the gloaters are all about this morning in the office. Like lemings, they will fall off the cliff as the next 18 months unfold.

I fear it will be much sooner than that!
