ROFL!!! Hey Mitt!

I see you took a few minutes to get out of that curled up fetal position from under your desk, and pulled your thumb out of your mouth long enough to check in here.

I knew you were a big boy, and you would get over all that shock and bitterness sooner or later and get back to being a leader of the GOP.....oh wait, did I say “back to”

sry....

;-)

I disagree with you on this.

Rove will be forever linked to Bush--with everything that involves. Isn't Rove basically a centrist? IMHO, that's not what we need at this time.

Remember when we lost everything in the 92’ election and two short years later we seized control of contract, most of the govenorships, and 500 dem defections? Well the guy at the helm was Newt. He is exactly the kind of mind we need now to take back government with strong conservative ideas.

It’s only unbelievable because 2002-2006 proved the rule “Absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Thanks Delay, Hastert, Stevens etc., etc. etc.

We had our chance and we blew it because of hubris, greed and plain old incompetence.

We had a handful of Republicans, like Jeff Flake and Tom Coburn who saw the shit the House and Senate leaders either ignored or quietly supported. They spoke out every chance they could and subsequently got treated like third class citizens by the party leadership as well as the rank-and-file, and now were paying the price.

Gingrich is a proven reformer and that’s what the Republicans need more than anything.

The democrats were really corrupt back then and the Republican brand was still very good since we were just coming off Reagan.

I don’t think it’ll be 2 years. Maybe 4-6? Even so, if Democrats can force down union, immigration and all this other crap in the meantime we are so screwed.

If not, I wonder would Fred consider? We need someone with "CORE" Conservative values.

Let's make SARAH PALIN the RNC Chair!

You need to drop the Sarah Palin as founding father myth. She is badly maligned for her role in the campaign, but she is not the person who is going to figure out the direction for the Republican Party. Newt is about the only guy who is actually offering ideas to solve problems.

The problem the Republicans have are not because of Newt but despite him. They were all for the Gingrich revolution until they got power. Then they were merely interested in more pork for their districts.

America 2008 = IDENTITY POLITICS

When no one is offering solutions to problems, identity politics is all there is. But identity politics are not going to solve the business cycle burst credit bubble depression we are now experiencing. Identity politics are not going to figure out what how A-stan will end. Idenity politics is not going to solve Israel striking Iran's nuclear sites because idiots like you think it is all about identity politics. Pretty soon real problems are going to be screaming for real solutions.

Newt is a political whore,

Actually you are a political idiot. You wouldn't know a real idea if it dropped on your head. I don't think Newt ever claimed he has all the answers. But he has identified problems, has offered up solutions and asks that folks enter the debate and figure it out. No one else is showing up for the debate. Idiots like you run away screaming.

‘what the Republican Party needs is more old overweight white guys to get our message out’

See what I mean. You think we even know what the message to get out is. You clearly don't. You are totally f'in clueless. I don't know what branch of conservatism you come from, but the problem is, no one f'in cares about your ideology. What they care about is how you are going to solve problems. You don't know. You are concerned about the age and color of the messenger and whether that metrosexual is fit to walk runways.

We have two guys who argued, "I didn't even think we should be in Iraq" vs "I have the experience to get us out." Neither offered an actual solution to this or anything else. Credit crunch. One took a time out. The other didn't. Who gives a flying. Neither said how we were going to solve it.

This would be awesome - if it’s Newt or Michael Steele the first priorty is to educate the public on conservatism...

Then identify the RINO’s and support the candidates who advocate conservatism and boot the RINO’s out in the 2010 and 2012 primaries!

'Tis not a Founding Father myth.

It's a direct slap in the face of the RINOs.

They've spit in the conservatives' faces for so long...

How many more senile, doddering GOP compromisers are there before we've gotten rid of all of them?

Seriously, Mel Martinez, Lindsay Grahamnesty, McCain's immigration advisor, fatass Hastert, ...

And what's with Bob Barr being an ACLU member and running for Prez (just to draw votes from the GOP...which cost us North Carolina).

I know, it's only one little thing. Just as Brunner in Ohio is one little thing. And Eddie Rendell and fraud in Pennsylvania is one little thing. And the theft of the MN Senate by Franken is one little thing.

Add up five or six or a dozen little things, and you have a catastrophe.

Where are the DEM calamities?

Even Elliot Spitzer is not being prosecuted. What favors or threats were involved with that?

He was damaged by himself. You don’t go in on faith and morals and then prove to be unfaithful and immoral. That’s what he did. You want to run just on issues, fine. The Conservative movement, though, is more than just about economic issues, or social justice issues. At it’s core it is a movement backed by a simple concept: In God We Trust. That comes with some baggage I’ll gladly carry. And I will work to elect any one willing to carry that baggage to Washington. Those who subvert it by their egos ought to move aside. It’s not like Gingrich fell once; he did this several times. V’s wife.
