Somehow you imagine that when a scientist, however distinguished, expresses his or her personal opinions about religion, that those opinions reflect something about science.

Yada, yada, yada. Produce or recant, poseur.

from 1,820 BroJoeK:"”Somehow you imagine that when a scientist, however distinguished, expresses his or her personal opinions about religion, that those opinions reflect something about science.”

from 1.821 YHAOS:"Yada, yada, yada. Produce or recant, poseur."

On this particular subject, here is one relevant quote:

from 1,817 YHAOS: "On Jan 25 (see post #1447) I pointed out to you a whole raft of world-renowned scientists who make value judgments (philosophical statements) that they freely admit are derived from scientific facts. In fact, they boast that they are making philosophical judgments on nothing more than scientific facts. The Masters of the Universe have violated their own cannon of professional conduct to achieve a political objective. You tried to pass off their professional remarks as mere ‘opinion,’ and ever since being confronted with that horrible revelation you’ve been twisting and turning in every direction, indulging in an elaborate chicken dance trying to escape the obvious fact that you’ve been betrayed by the very people you think you are defending, and been made a fool, when their only objective was to attack and defeat Christianity (or religion, if it pleases you)."

I'd say, your paragraph above is total bull cr*p, because:

Bottom line: I don't defend their opinions, but I do defend their right to express them, and our right to ignore them.

Of course, if you want to quote for us some "cannon of professional conduct" which forbids scientists from expressing opinions on religion, that would be most curious.

So, produce or recant, Poseur Maximus!

Yes, oh Emperor of Science, Most Merciful King of The Masters of the Universe who sets himself up to be superior in knowledge and judgment to such luminaries of science as Dawkins, Weinberg, Provine, Pinker, Gould, Hawking, Singer, Dennett, Tooley, Monod, Lewontin, Sagan, Hauser, Stenger, et al.

So, produce or recant, Poseur Maximus!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, though in this case it is a virtually catatonic imitation.

Produce or recant, poseur.

Clearly you've descended into into blathering nonsense. Have a great life! This "discussion" is, at long last, over. ;-)

From this, I take it that you can’t support your assertion that I attack Science, and have exhausted the repertoire of the dance steps of denial you go through attempting to disguise the painfully obvious. Apparently you’ve finally come to understand the degree of your embarrassment, and want to bring your ordeal to an end.

Very well. End it. You may have the last word.

As usual, a false accusation. Many posts ago you informed us that you will not defend or support those who attack science. I acknowledged your corrrection at the time, but you continue to insult with one false accusation or another.

This "discussion" is over.
