The only thing that would threaten significant lives would be if clean water stopped flowing. That’s the only thing that would threaten large numbers of americans in a short enough time frame that you couldn’t get other basic services online.

No clean water = pandemics quickly, particularly in urban environments.

I’ve got a well and I can dig up a hand pump if needed. I’ll sell water at a fair price.

Which is why today, (taking a break) I am going through our emergency supplies. 3 50 gallon water tanks and a chest full of antibiactorial babywipes and other things. Cough syrup, fever reducer, etc... Those big plastic containers are good to keep those stored and fit nicely in a closet.

I’ve commented on here before that I am a bit paranoid (thank you Sept 11, I trace it completely back to then. I also trace my conservatism to then too though) But these are good things to have in case of a natural disaster too. However I am not going to rule out a massive hit anymore. Heck, with Hussein in office, I’m not sure I can even trust my own government.

Man, I always thought those people like on Ruby Ridge were “fringe” nutjobs. Maybe they were. Maybe I am. I only know I am uncertain about the future at this point. Especially when something completely insane like running a piece of legislation through in the TRILLIONS is being considered to be passed without even reading it because someone has to get to Europe.

I am in the Twilight Zone. I swear I am trapped in a damn Twilight Zone episode.
