Heck yeah! His version was at least as good as the Hendrix version at Woodstock. Nugent is awesome!

I like Uncle Teddley and all but,

Jimi's version, the original, was so much better.

Go back and have a listen if you've any doubts.

All the don’t tread on me flags are awesome.
I hope b. hussein understands the depth of the hatred so so so many have for him. I think he rationalizes the anger and hate in to a political thing. I don’t think b. hussein gets that this is no longer about politics, this is about morally viable war bubbling about a nanometer below the surface.

That is one that I have in memory, no need to go back.

I have it on my iPod and like it a lot, but it gets a little lost and muddled in the middle. Both are great, but I prefer Nugent’s version. You feel otherwise? That’s cool by me.

The “Hendrix version” was high caliber in more ways than one...;>)

I was introduced to the Nuge by Penn & Teller’s Bulls...Hit.

Some people think the Nuge is crazy, I think he is one of the few sane people out there.

Whoops, you are a conservative. Never mind.

This is a perfect example of why Hendrix is a gifted legend that will always be remembered, and Ted Nugent is a rock and roll footnote.

True... While Hendrix is a legend, I don't know if Ted rates as a mere footnote... Hendrix was a true innovator. As a guitar player he was the "first" to do certain things with the electric guitar. Eddie Van Halen did the very same thing. That said, I'd rather be Ted than Jimi! LOL How about you?

BTW: Interesting handle, "Lana Turner Overdrive". Are you a BTO fan? I sure am. :-)

My point is this; Hendrix was special. He, like Charlie Parker and Bruce Lee, was able to tap into “the other side.” And I'm not talking about drugs. When Hendrix played the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock, the guitar version of that song belonged to him forever. There is a reason why you've never heard any self-respecting guitar player play it since. Ted Nugent, by doing so, proved himself to be a chump, a tool and an idiot. And I grew up loving Nugent. He would have been wise to pick another patriotic song to play as his contribution for the event.

Ted is alive and Hendrix is dead. Jimi tapped into the “other side” alright. He wasted his God given talent by killing himself with drugs and alcohol. Jimi is the chump, Ted is a patriot who can also play the guitar.
