7 Senate Republicans Reply to DHS 'Rightwing Extremists' Scaremongering

Seven Republican Senators have this week signed a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano asking for the proof upon which the Department of Homeland Security based its outrageously accusatory report on so-called rightwing extremism in the Untied States.

The seven scold the DHS and the Obama administration for its over-broad generalizations that seem to assume that nearly half the electorate is prone to becoming terrorists merely because they hold right of center political views.

The letter alludes to the central point in this whole episode: that the U.S. government has now determined that the traditional American beliefs of small government and adherence to the Constitution is now suddenly a determinant in forming citizens into homegrown terrorist groups. After 200 years, all of a sudden believing in run-of-the-mill American beliefs makes you a terrorist! These seven Senators want to know why...

We need to all pick up the phone and call our Senators and Congresscritters and let them know how we feel about this.

This is offensive, demeaning, and false. And any Dept. head that would agree with this document, whch Napolitano does, needs to resign.

I’ve let my reps know what I think about this despicable document, and that Janet Reno, Jr. needs to go.

Please note that the January report on left wing groups was very specific about the basis of their threats based upon documented past actions.

There was no such precise referernce regarding the recent accusations toward conservative groups.

I want major congressional outrage, lawsuits, etc....

We can’t let this stand folks! If it does basically Obama can round all of us and hold us for 6 months legally for no reason other than we disagree with him!

This is DISGUSTING. Every single Republican congressperson should be shouting and screaming at this outrage.

They are there to represent us. Some representatives!

Isn’t it interesting that Lord Zero immediately gets the credit for the actions of 3 Navy Seals on the other side of the planet, but doesn’t take any heat for the actions of someone he appointed and works in his white house.

If you look at communist takeovers of the past (Cultural Revolution, Pol Pot, Castro, others) it seems that a significant number of the country’s population must die, either outright or in prisons.

And now we have an official document from our own government warning the police functions of government to be on the watch for about half our population, because they hold dangerous views or have skills that could be used to create effective opposition.

Only seven Senators are on record yelling about this?

Where were these 7 Republicans when Bush DHS appointee Chertoff kept saying over and over how the primary threat to Obama at the inauguration was from “right wing wackos?”

When I read through that report, I only see a warning.

Shut up, Conservatives! This is your only warning!

It's just one big scare tactic to keep us quiet.

I didn't know the Army trained soldiers in the use of ANFO.
That's what this witch said, that the Army trained Timothy McVeigh to bomb the Murrah building.

The socialists would be further along in their playbook by now if they didn't fear a third of the American population. This report is a healthy sign that their Utopian dreams are being quenched by the reality of a sniper armed freedom loving militia.
