The Netherlands were the first to recognize the United States of America near Sint Eustatius (then under Dutch control) on November 16th 1776 when salute shots were answered by Johannes de Graaff, gouvernour of Sint Eustatius. The Andrew Doria was one of the first ships to cary the American flag and was sent to pick up war supplies for the war against britain and to deliver a copy of the declaration of independence to the gouvenour.

I know the story, but I had always heard that the Dutch Republic did not formally recognize American independence until 1780, which was three years after Morocco.

Reprehensible and a great topic for the GOP leadership. Oh, I forgot, they’re still looking for their gonads and spine.

Obviously, that’s because the Pilgrims were racists.

He’s been hanging around Biden too much. It’s starting to show. Next we’ll hear how football and hockey were brought to this country by the Mohammedans.

Sorry, but the last great contribution to civilization that the Mohammedans gave the world was the zero concept. Now we have a grade to give 0bambi.

Worth repeating:

but his ancestors did supply the slaves to help build this nation

Although I'd have been tempted to say:

but his MUSLIM ancestors did supply the slaves to help build this nation

No one at the Egyptian University or the international media took issue with the President’s bizarre interpretation of American history, let alone his confusion of the Nation of Islam (the religion of Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X) that bears scant similarity to orthodox Islam.

This being a very very important point.

Saudi Arabia didn’t outlaw slavery until the 20th century.

“I know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story,” Mr. Obama told the throng of unenlightened Muslims. “The first nation to recognize my country was Morocco. . . And since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States.”

Can someone tell me if this is even remotely true?! Funny I have NEVER heard that—perhaps he is talking about KENYA?! ;)

Look up the history on coffee sometime. It was discovered in Kenya by a goat herder in the 7th century who noticed the goats eating the berries and getting peppy. So the locals tried it, liked it and began trading with their Arab neighbors. The Arabs liked it and decided the Kenyans who wouldn’t convert to Islam would make good slaves for the rest to pick the berries. And the rest, as they say, is history.

The Saudis were the biggest slave traders of all time.

So why doesn't Saudi Arabia have a substantial Black population?

Because the muslim Saudis preferred their slaves castrated...
