Democrats and Republicans are sniping at each other as they prepare for the confirmation hearings for Sonia Sotomayor.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein accused Republicans Thursday of engaging in a “Machiavellian delay” to buy time to dig up dirt on Sonia Sotomayor.
Republican Whip Jon Kyl shot back that senators were sounding like “squabbling spouses” and should “stop calling each other names.”
Feinstein shook her head and Kyl snapped. “Sen. Feinstein,” he said, “I don’t appreciate having my motives being questioned.”

Is this not the point of these hearings? Eh, nevermind, who needs qualifications these days? Our Treasury Secretary is a cheat.
Written about John Roberts it would been couched as “the loyal opposition gathering information on an unknown being given a lifetime appointment.”
Wonder what they really expect out of Sotomajor that they can't get from the AFL-CIO.
