That’s a sure way to hand the 2012 election to Obama.

The RNC stood and did nothing while the DNC/MSM/Hollywood mob brutalized the Palin family for almost an entire year.

They are as dead as she. I despise them as a party, they are weak and cowardly.

The present Republican party needs to go the way of the Whigs... Or to decide to stand for something.

If you have 1/3 of the country behind then why not form a strong third party?????? She can do it and it would beat both the Demonrats and the GOP.

"Sarah can fix the Republican party, if given a chance"

Nothing personal, but anyone who believes that any one person can fix the republican party is part of the problem that got us where we find ourselves, not the solution. It is going to take many, many people working incredibly hard to repair the state of politics today (and I say politics generically, as both parties are corrupt beyond much hope).

We’d need a bit more detail about the party, platform, etc etc etc.

So you want more hope and change? Instead help her define the party, platform, etc., etc., etc.

no need to, we are about to reclaim an already established political party.

Of course. I am already an Independent, so that would be an easy decision.

Since I have not belonged to the Republican party for quite some time, if Gov. Palin wanted to form a conservative party, I would be on board.

I ask what her platform would be and you retort implies that any reply other than Yes supports Obama? Sorry, but I’m not signing on anything where it’s contents are kept secret.

if she really wanted to make herself irrelevant, then she should go ahead and start her own third party.

I don’t think that’s a likelihood, but let me put it this way...

I’ve been a life-long Republican who has never wavered, but after Bush’s insane spending, his play-dead approach to championing his causes, the loathesome amnesty push, the horrid Republican primary, a candidate like McCain who was bound and determined to lose, the RINO-backstabbing of Palin, the continued inability of the GOP to truly voice opposition to Obama’s Marxist agenda...

Well, YES! I would stand alongside Palin in a split-second, and never look back! The whole GOP establishment and beltway punditry makes me want to vomit, after that aforementioned track-record. I’d wholeheartedly go with Sarah Palin and the tea parties before placing any more trust in them. No question.

Notice how those pundits pretend that her resignation was in a vacuum? Never mentioning the savaging of her and her family.

As if she just decided this because she was bored or something.

Your right, it won’t only have to be her, but others as well, but I think if she starts the trend, and others get involved, the party can be fixed

Realistically, No. Three paties never work and here is why.

Except for one big exception. If the third party is replacing one of the major parties, then under the right circumstances it does work.

Case in point: Slavery was splitting the Whigs into about five splinters. Abraham Lincoln came along and led the splinters which were anti-slavery as well as states rights into the Republican Party. Those whig splinters which still wanted slavery or more government disappeared.

Right now we have splinters of the Republican Party who are RINOs, liberal Pubbies, moderate Pubbies, etc., etc. Look at the gatherings over the last month. Underlying almost all of them was a feeling of let's get back to conservatism. That could be the catalyst, with somebody to lead, which could form the new party.
