Governor Palin / Thomas Van Flein Frivolous Ethics Complaint
Sarah Palin Facebook Notes ^ | July 11, 2009 | Thomas Van Flein

Posted on 07/11/2009 7:10:16 AM PDT by Virginia Ridgerunner

When Governor Palin announced that she would be resigning, in part, because of the unusual number of frivolous ethics complaints burdening the state of Alaska, that was not intended to be an invitation to file more frivolous ethics complaints. Not everyone got the message. As if to underscore the Governor's point, two more frivolous complaints were filed this week.

For example, Raymond A. Ward (DOB 1947), has apparently filed a state ethics complaint (No. 19) incorrectly alleging that the Governor has appeared on "television and radio variety shows earning and accepting money for personal and private use on state time." These allegations are categorically false. Though signed under "penalty of purgery" (sic) it is apparent that Mr. Ward has no factual basis for the statements he has made.

Governor Palin has never been paid an appearance fee or received other remuneration from any "television or radio" show. She has not been paid for any media interview. The allegations made by Mr. Ward have no basis in truth.

In releasing the complaint publicly today, Mr. Ward violated the confidentiality provision of the Ethics Act. Mr. Ward is apparently no stranger to the Alaska court system apparently with a collection of criminal and civil matters allegedly involving him, including possible allegations of: filing a false report, illegal use of the telephone, criminal trespass, domestic violence, vehicle tampering, and DUI. Ward's attorney in some of those past cases--Rex Butler.

Attached are Courtview print-outs as well as an updated list of ethics complaints.

what i dont understand is why the legistrators don’t come up with a law to protect themselves from this frivolous lawsuits. Can the Republicans just launch their own frivolous lawsuits against all the lawmakers and see how they feel

Is this what Democrats want for America? Do they want Chicago-style politics on a national scale? If not, where is the backlash? This seems like a very risky scheme to me.

You mean the Obama operative lawyer REX BUTLER? The Rex Butler that magically appeared as Sherry Johnston's lawyer out of thin air and then became Levi Johnston's agent. THAT Rex Butler?

What a coincidence...LMAO.

Rex Butler: Democrat, supporter of Jesse Jackson, race hustler, attorney of the ethics complaint anklebiters and attorney of Levi Johnston.

He is the ring-leader of the 'rats nest harrassing the Palin family.

I'm not sure but I think there are two different entities overseeing the ethics complaint filings. One has jurisdiction over the Legislature, etc. and has no jurisdiction over the executive branch. The other covers the executive branch which is the one under which the Palin complaints are being filed.

Palin has claimed she has been successful in cleaning up the processes. Of that I'm not sure what she was referring to.

One thing we have learned here is this soft approach the Republicans use is pure crap. If we ever get control again, hit these RATS with everything we can and start the destruction of them. No more soft sh@@. And don’t give me this crap that we live to a higher standard. Look where we are now. Where did we get these simple minded Republicans? This is war!!!!!

Rex is obviously having his various clients do the dirty work of filing the ethics complaints, while Tank parades "Ricky Hollywood" around to the gossip-mongers.

Looks like clear RICO activity to me.

It's our duty to stamp out evil where it exists. And that is a higher standard. So I say, let's roll (over Rex).

See #16, he does give money to D’s.. It will take some time to look at SEC filings to see if he was listed as an expense (ie hired by) any part or party of the DNC.

My guess is that the DNC has covered it’s paper trail, and that any money going to Butler and Jones comes from any one or number of the various lib front groups set up by Soros, Axelrod, and company. Probably untraceable without subpoenas.

I agree with you two...see tagline ;-) one of my all time FAV movies - Connery spoke the truth —a question the GOP should be asked...a question that Sarah seems to be one of the few who could answer properly, too!

What I always wonder is: Where are the people/money on OUR side to go after these guys? And to do a little harrassing of our own (since you don't always want to be on the defensive)? Are there no conservatives with means to go after Butler, Ward, and others?

Obama ran for president while being paid to be Senator without having to defend against ethics charges.

Sarah apparently won't have that luxury, so she resigned.

The infection killing America is the democrat party. Until the people realize that the eradication of the disease is all that can save the body politik, the disease will continue to fester and pustulate like in Alaska (and recently in Texas). Sarah Palin’s resignation ought to send a clear message to Alasakans that the democrat party is not the friend of Alaska, it is the insidious ghoul seeking to control Alaska for the demons in D.C.
