We say, “I’m going to take the gun off the wall and shoot the next person who calls.” LOL! We don’t have a gun on the wall, but we have lotsa them. And a lot of ammo.

God bless this country.

Your profile page is amazing. Everyone should read it.

I’m lucky all my nephews and great nephews have come home from the Middle East.

My two brothers never had to serve in Viet Nam for physical reasons. My other brothers were too young.

Got tears in my eyes. I knew a few friends who never returned from Viet Nam.

God bless all those families and friends.

We’ve got a lot of guns.

The .22 five shot is a POS. Every time I’ve practiced shooting with it, my right thumb gets cut. BUT OTOH, it fits into a manicure kit. Screw the thumb.

A girl’s best friend is a shotgun. We have two Remington 1200s here.

Projectile weapons are, like, *so* 19th century.

I’ve read a lot of Massad Ayoob. While all these “wish lists” are nice, what happens if some person spends a whole lotta dollars on one of these guns — and then, when TSHTF, discovers that he’s not very proficient with that particular gun? or that he’s not comfortable with the grip? or that ammo for that model is really scarce and pretty expensive?

The Mossberg has a removable choke tube, while the Remington doesn’t.

The Rem 870 Magnum Express does have the removable choke!

I bought my Chinese-built SKS second-hand from an American capitalist...

The guy responsible for selling all those SKS's made a boat-load of money that he is reinvesting in a Chinese gun plant. Should be some decent shotguns coming out of there, soon. All the available AKs are made from Romanian, Bulgarian, or Polish parts kits...not a Commie in the bunch.

I came to this realization on my own over the years, so I think I have my bases covered:

Remington 700 in .30-06 (though if I had it to do over again, I might’ve gone with the .308 instead.

Marlin 60 in .22 LR

Remington 870 12ga.

Ruger P345 in .45ACP

I also think a wheel gun is a must as well, so:

Smith & Wesson 686 .357 Mag.

Very nice...cost about twice what my first car did....a 68 MGB-GT

I am partial to 16 over 12 as well...have an old Remington hump back on Browning patent “sweet” autoloader...made by Remington while Belgium FN was under Axis control..and before too I think..

and an old 16 Franchi OU as well
