...So we are now being told that Patrick Kennedy, the third child of Ted and Joan Kennedy, will not seek re-election to the House of Representatives, representing Rhode Island. It would be easy to take a few parting shots at Patrick. But part of facing reality is giving up on facades, mirages and imagery. By the time Patrick came along, it was more like, Oh, God
not another Kennedy!

Ah, the Kennedy Camealot. I remember it well.
There is no way that the “European” Jackieeeeeeee would be tolerated by the “little people” today, with her riding to hounds, Paris fashion show life and so on.
In 1960 it was glamorous and no one had seen anything like it, other than movie stars.
Talk about elitist!
Hopefully the entire remaining Kennedy bunch will stay out of sight for good!!!
There isn’t ONE in the current batch that strikes me as worthy of the people of Massachusetts. The Kennedys have been emblematic of the problem we have in politics today: Too many see political office as a personal goal which, once obtained, is meant for personal gain.
We haven’t solved any problems with the departures of the Kennedys... but it’s a good start. Now if we could get rid of effite, elitists like Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Kerry, Barney Frank (just to name a few), we’d be off to an even better start.
I doubt it. He probably was embalmed with it. Just a hunch...
Nothing so distinguished his tenure in the House of Representatives as his leaving it. End of story.
Can I get an AMEN?
Patches out.
Next up ‘Ginger” Kennedy?

Joseph Kennedy III, the son of former congressman Joe Kennedy, is being tipped to launch a political career soon as insiders mull over who the next Kennedy in public life will be.
Kennedy, 29, may be interested in the South Shore-Cape Cod House seat currently held by Democratic Congressman Bill Delahunt, who has not yet committed to a tough re-election fight.
Massachusetts and Capitol Hill without a Kennedy is like Fenway Park without the Wall, Dan Payne, a Democratic media consultant, referring to the famous Green Monster told the Boston Globe. They were meant to be together.
Others believe the era may be over. Theres an endless supply of Kennedys but they all do different things with their lives, said Philip W. Johnston, chairman of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. They should not be measured by how they do in electoral politics.
Joseph P. Kennedy III is a Harvard Law School graduate and former Peace Corps volunteer, is seen as the most likely, Democratic Party insiders say. He has made numerous appearances at Democratic party events and has expressed the most interest in seeking office. He is currently an assistant district attorney in Barnstable County. His brother Matthew Kennedy is working in the Obama administration but is said to be more interested in a business career.
Other possibilities for politics include Ted Kennedy’s widow Vicki who is said to still be furious about the loss of her husband’s senate seat to Scott Brown, while Patrick Kennedy has not ruled out another run for office.
Yeah... driving on Massachusetts roads just got a lot more treacherous. But what excuse will Patrick use the NEXT time he crashes at 2 AM into an apartment building? “I was on my way to an important vote by my homeowner’s association...?”
Good - no, EXCELLENT - point!
Yeah, somehow, “We’ve GOT to pass healthcare to honor the memory of Patrick Kennedy” just doesn’t carry much weight...
instead of “retires” how about “quits” as in “Kennedy the Quitter”. msnbc types always mention how Palin quit as governor.
LOL.
Thread spolier. I love it...lol.
They WOULD move to Europe, but nobody there wants to be associated with Kennedy lovers either... with the possible exception of Ireland.
God Bless You, for your service Conor. And thanks for the AMEN!
With Daddy dead...Patrick read the writing on the wall...no Daddy to come to his rescue.
LMAO! “It’s going to be close.”

Jospeh Kennedy III, the nephew of the late Senator Edward Kennedy and son of Jospeh Kennedy, votes in election to replace his uncle in the US Senate. As he was leaving the Hyannis Youth and Community Center after voting, Kennedy stated that the race is going to be a “close one”.
LOLOLOL
He has spunk in his walk...lol.
That walk depicts a “swagger and a powerful sense of entitlement.”
:D
son of Joseph? I thought he was the one killed in WWII? Maybe this is one of Robt/Ethel? Hard to keep ‘em all straight.
