Something we would like to see more often: reports on what you see in your neighborhoods
Hillbuzz ^ | 03/27/10 | Hillbuzz

Here’s something we want to see more of from all of you out there who are quiet and never comment on threads.

Every day, when we run our Open Thread, we’d love reports on what people in your neighborhoods, towns, communities, cities, and social groups are talking about.

It’s fascinating for us, and helps us get a good handle on what real Americans are engaged in, instead of what the MSM tries to cram down our throats.

We try our best to do this for you here, to tell you what we are hearing on the ground here in Boystown. We actively seek out opinions of those around us and write down as much of it as we can to fill you in later.

Can you start doing this for us too?

Some of you already do this, and it’s wonderful.

But, there are an awful lot of people all across the country and the world who pop in here — if a larger percentage would report in what people are talking about in their parts of the country or globe, we can’t even begin to imagine how helpful that would be.

Just imagine all of those real world, first hand reports, across all demographics, chiming in with the voices of all those different cities and states.

It would be an amazing resource for us, and would factor mightily into our analysis of what’s going on politically.

So, think about it. It would only take you a moment or two each day. It would probably be hard at first, just as it was hard for us to start writing essays every day on this site. But, after a few days, you’ll get used to your Reports.

“Helen reporting in from Altoona here, with the scoop on opinions at the grocery store”.

“Bruce reporting in from Boston, with what people are talking about here”.

“Mercedes reporting the word on the street in Pittsburgh”.

If enough of you did this, and we had people reporting in from all 50 states, we’d become a better news source than the MSM itself. We’d have eyes and ears on the ground everywhere, and if we kept building that busy bee network, just imagine the influence we could all have combined by 2012.

We’d be an absolute nightmare for the Left, because we’d have a complete national picture of what was going on, instead of what the MSM was told to force feed us.

Like we keep saying, we are willing to put in yeoman’s work and dedicate ourselves to doing everything we can to defeat Dr. Utopia and his Leftists. This is one awesome way in which you could help, that would cost you nothing save for five minutes of your time each day to report in what people are talking about politically and culturally in your parts of the country.

Think about it.

Then report on it tomorrow in the next open thread!

Great idea! Can we all do that all over the country and try to get it together somewhere on Hillbuzz or on some type of permanent thread on Fr? That really would help us know exactly where we are at for the mood of the whole country and help us estimate our chances and what we need to do to fight this communism take over.

Also may be that could help us target (oops...bad word now..) the stupids who know nothing and could vote for obama again - try to know better where they are and educate them or try to attract them in our groups. That would anyway facilitate the contacts.

Alinski: 'Pick the Target, Freeze It, Personalize It and Polarize It'

Your thoughts?

If all that lovely information is posted here, the most aggressive and manipulative people on the planet will see it too.

Ok so let's find another more discret way. I think the idea is great.

You should go read the comments ate Hillbuzz. Great people there; One of the comment:

Kristi Says:

Boys, I will start sending you pictures.

I travel all of central Indiana for my job. You would not believe the stuff I see.

There is ayard that is COVERED in signs that say.. BUY YOUR OWN INSURANCE!

There are upside down republican and democrat flags. The gasden flag is EVERYWHERE.

Tea party signs are on billboards here.

There is a business in a suburb of Indy that has an anti Obama message outside of his business and it is changed WEEKLY.

The anger out there is unreal.

More out-of-state plates than ever, lots of heavy oilfield truck traffic, and sand from the snow which melted in the latest heat wave (above freezing weather!)

We have 4.5 % unemployment, mainly because of the oil industry and the Bakken/Three Forks activity in the region. We don't have enough housing to go around, and it is too cold to be homeless or live in a vehicle here.

There are lots of 'for sale' signs in front of houses, but the prices are the highest they have ever been; these are not foreclosures but people 'cashing in' on a very tight market.

I have heard a lot of people complain bitterly about the Congress, the Federal Government's spending, and "healthcare". I have heard the 'n' word more times in the past year than in all the time I lived in North Dakota, although it isn't aimed at the black people who are here working, rather a very few specific individuals who have by their infamous activities (especially of late) arguably earned the vitriol which is spat in their direction.

No threats of violence, but disgust and concern over the direction these idiots in D.C. are taking us all, the economy and the value of the hard-earned dollars people are trying to put away.

We have some (hopefully) soon-to-be unemployed Dems. Maybe they will come back to ND and get a real job. (Yeah, right!)

The same things they’ve always talked about just more heatedly. I was at a cocktail party tonight, and of course the health care bill came up. As could be expected, it was divided almost equally, if not equally, except this time it got a little out of hand, and folks (on both sides) started behaving rudely, loudly, and were otherwise obnoxiously disagreeing. Skipping to the conclusion, it ended early and no one’s mind was changed.

Enjoying Texas springtime (in spite of the horrors being inflicted on us all from Washington).

Headed back to the sand next month and thinking those folks over there may be more free than we are.

Hope all is well with you. Giggity. :)

which is very sad - with the help of the MSM and this gov, they are fueling the hate between us - what an awful bunch of disgusting people.

In my San Francisco neighborhood:

-2 empty storefronts for lease on every block

-someone’s trying to get another pot dispensary ok’d by the Planning commission

-public transit prices have doubled

-gas is way up over $3 a gallon

-bridge tolls keep rising

-the roadways are 3rd world status

-a poor 83 year old Chinese man was kicked to death by 6 black youths, no provocation (he was going to visit his wife in a nursing home, took the bus) i.e., there is definitely racial tension to the point of murder in some neighborhoods

-we have a “health tax” added to our restaurant bills

-parking tickets are like $75 and there is no shortage of meter maids, if you can find a spot

-property values have gone down about 30%

-they’ve started charging for rec and park kids’ classes that used to be free

-”big box” stores like Home Depot are being refused by city planning folks (I guess we just get too many taxes. . .)

-there are derelicts and homeless and crazy pretty consistently out in public

On the positive side, there is very little Obama propaganda out any more (it used to be everywhere), Chinese food is still cheap, the weather is mild, many neighbors are decent, you can find anything you could want in the stores (shopping is fantastic here), there are some solid if small churches that are even actually truly inter-racial, Sen. Boxer has a poor outlook for her upcoming re-coronation, there are wonderful music and performance venues and acts, and ROTC is back in public schools, although only 70% of the kids go to public schools any more.

"reports on what you see in your neighborhoods"

More cohesion between former left and right. Contempt for politics and social trends in general.

In my Asheville, NC area
-3 Doctors are running for the Senate in different districts in Western North Carolina and have townhall meetings to explain their views on the reform bill and How Real Reform could be accomplished

-Sign posted in my neighbors’ internal medicine doc: “We are no longer accepting Medicade or Medicare patients

-My internal medicine doc who deals with a lot of retirees and is in an office by himself said that last year he saw 120 new patients and earned $8,000. LESS. It’s only going to get worse.

-I’ve been visiting a lot of docs in the last few weeks since I’m having some cancer free check ups. The doctors are frightened and furious, even those who admit voting for Obama.

-The girls who take care of the billing are very frustrated especially with United Health Care which is AARP and Secure Horizons and one other because they are avoiding paying any bills, putting them off, refusing to pay, ignoring them. So all the back and forth paper work is constant and frustrating. The bigger the companies, like United Health/AARP are getting big Government pay backs and they are the worst to deal with, according to a few ladies I talked to.

-My internal medicine guy is considering going private.
