Sure it does, sent it to this thread....LOL

Most folks do not enjoy my ping lists, as I get carried away on posting and jam their ping file, so I post and you can bookmark and come to read ...

Now, my hands will not allow the extra typing of names, so I work mostly with ‘all’.

On our survival list, link in my sig line, Cottonball sends the pings for me.

What ever you do don’t get old, but do come and check what we find and post.

Thanks for reading it.

200,000 Russian/Chinese along US Border
June 30th, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

Canada’s spy agency CSIS has issues an extreme danger alert regarding the penetration of Chinese and also Russian agents performing covert operations along the US Border. While most the Chinese economic espionage in Canada has been deemed not too dangerous, the events of the past week have set off alarm bells behind closed doors. Foreign Affairs Canada is trying to locate some 860 ex-soviet citizens who hold Canadian Passports and are presumably in the US. There may be as many as 87,000 Chinese Immigrants to Canada that have crossed into the US legally and triple that amount illegally. In a recent report by CSIS (that the Canadian Government tried to hide from the media), CSIS reported that 1/3 Chinese Immigrants are low level information gatherers. Their main task is to settle into society over several years and slowly gain entry into Government, Business and Education infrastructures

Hizb ut-Tahrir Event Canceled — R.E.A.L Challenges HT at Lincoln Memorial

July 12, 2010
Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.)
http://www.realcourage.org/2010/07/ht-canceled-and-real-challenge/

On the night of July 10, 2010, the anti-democracy organization Hizb ut-Tahrir America canceled its event scheduled for the month of July in suburban Chicago. The next day, on July 11, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, Muslim and non-Muslim supporters of the volunteer human rights group Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.) stood together on a hot July afternoon to publicly challenge Hizb ut-Tahrir America on its views, with R.E.A.L. promoting democracy and human rights and rejecting Hizb ut-Tahrir’s intolerance to religious freedom, rejecting Hizb ut-Tahrir’s anti-democracy views, and rejecting Hizb ut-Tahrir’s promotion of the barbaric act of stoning. Human rights volunteers against stoning challenged Hizb ut-Tahrir’s previous demonstrations where the anti-democracy Hizb ut-Tahrir group promoted stoning on June 22 and on World AIDS Day.

I am always surprised at how young Jeffrey is, for he has an elder’s wisdom, in his writing and in his personal posts.

Latest on the protests, photos and up dates.

ANTHRAX, HUMAN - UNITED KINGDOM (21): (SCOTLAND)
***********************************************
A ProMED-mail post
http://www.promedmail.org
ProMED-mail is a program of the
International Society for Infectious Diseases
http://www.isid.org

Date: 12 Jul 2010
From: Ramsay Colin colin.ramsay@nhs.net [edited]

RE: Anthrax, human - UK (20): (Scotland)

Sadly, in the latest case, the evidence points to it being a “new”
case in that exposure to contaminated heroin must have occurred
shortly before the onset of illness in very late June [2010]. It,
therefore, seems that we still have contaminated heroin circulating
in at least one part of Scotland. However, this was the 1st “newly
exposed” case for some time.

If the theory that there was some sort of common contaminated “batch”
initially is correct, this may indicate a (very) gradual petering out
of the “contaminated” stock.

Alternatively, very low level anthrax spore contamination of heroin
supplies may have become a chronic issue, with newly imported
supplies carrying spores. The evidence for the alternative
explanation is scant however, in that we have not seen any further
geographic spread beyond the initial affected areas in Scotland; the
latest case lives in the area originally affected. The lack of
reports from elsewhere in the UK or Europe, apart from the 3 cases in
England and the 2 in Germany in the very early stages of the
outbreak, might be taken to support the original hypothesis of a
contaminated “batch.” Investigations continue.

colin.ramsay@nhs.net

[The reference to “new” is that latterly, some of the Scots cases
were based on revisiting some cases that didn’t culture during the
clinical phase.

In epidemics that fail to stop but keep on giving, there is always
the concern that the agent might have switched sources. A good guide
in these days would also be whether the genotype had changed. But if
the newly imported contaminated heroin was coming from the same
valley in Afghanistan, one wouldn’t expect to see a new genotype,
even when it came in a different goatskin.

U.S. armed Gulf states, failed to organize a regional defense

WASHINGTON - The United States was said to have fallen short in efforts to
coordinate the militaries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The Bipartisan Policy Center has asserted that despite huge weapons sales,
the United States has failed to organize a regional Gulf Arab defense
network that could capitalize on the advanced platforms procured by such
countries as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. As a result,
the Washington-based center said, the six GCC states were regarded as
incapable of countering an Iranian strike.

Iran was serving as a base for Al Qaida.

to plan and finance Al Qaida attacks on the Saudi kingdom and other Gulf
Cooperation Council states.

Internal Conflict in Lebanon Over Control of Oil and Gas Resources
By: H. Varulkar*

Introduction
The recent discovery of a large natural gas field off the Israeli coast,
near Haifa, sparked an intense conflict in Lebanon between the camps of
Prime Minster Sa’d Al-Hariri and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri – an ally of
Hizbullah – over the control of Lebanon’s potential oil and natural gas
resources, which could generate enormous profits for the country.
At the same time, accusations began to be heard, especially from Hizbullah
and its political allies, that Israel is stealing Lebanon’s natural
resources and that the gas reservoir it has discovered extends into
Lebanon’s exclusive economic zone.[1] Senior officials from Hizbullah and
the opposition warned that the organization would not hesitate to use every
means, including its weapons, to defend Lebanon’s natural riches. Figures in
the March 14 Forces stated in response that Hizbullah was simply looking for
another excuse to hold on to its arms.
It should be mentioned that, following the Israeli gas discovery, Lebanon
expedited the process of appealing to the U.N. to officially demarcate its
exclusive economic zone and to delineate its maritime borders with
neighboring countries, except for Israel.[2] The presidents of Syria and
Lebanon decided on June 15, 2010 that the two countries would begin
demarking the maritime border between them even before completing the
demarcation of the land border, in order to settle the question of their
respective rights to offshore oil and gas.[3]
Who Will Lead the Legislation of Lebanon’s Natural Resources Bill?
A few days after Israel announced the discovery of an enormous gas reservoir
at the Leviathan drilling site off the Haifa coast, Lebanese Parliament
Speaker Nabih Berri launched an attack on Israel, accusing it of stealing
Lebanon’s gas and oil deposits, and of ignoring the fact that the gas
reservoir extends into Lebanese waters. Berri stressed that “the discovery
of [this] gas reservoir obligates Lebanon to act quickly in defense of its
rights,” and called on the Lebanese parliament and government to declare a
campaign of “economic resistance” in defense of the country’s natural
resources.[4]

Hizbullah signing up Israeli Arab officers as spies, drug-smugglers

TEL AVIV - Israel’s military has acknowledged that Hizbullah was recruiting
officers through enticements of drugs and cash.

The military said Hizbullah has recruited soldiers and officers to spy on
Israel as well as to help in drug smuggling from Lebanon. In the latest
development, the military reported the arrest of a warrant officer and
several civilians charged with maintaining links to the Iranian-sponsored
Shi’ite militia.

Jordanian jihadi ideologue Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi

Several Jordanian newspapers and websites published details in early June about 24-year-old Jordanian Anas Khalil Khadir, stating that he was killed in Chechnya after joining the jihad there. Khadir’s family members, who live in Zarqa (a city located east of Jordan’s capital city of Amman), told journalists that Khadir was very attached to the Chechen cause, leading him to abandon his medical engineering studies at Zarqa’s Hashemite University and depart for Chechnya a week before his final exams (Khaberni [Amman], June 7; al-Sabeel [Amman], June 3; Bab al-Arab, June 7).

A few days after the news of Khadir was reported, newspapers announced the death of another Jordanian in Chechnya, Yasser Ammara. Described as “a prominent Jordanian-born warlord,” Ammara was one of nine militants killed during a battle in the mountainous forests of the Vedeno region during the government’s “Operation Vengeance” (Interfax, June 11). The author’s sources confirmed that unlike Khadir, Ammara had been in Chechnya since early 2000.

Russian Suicide Bomb Ring Foiled, Government Says

By CLIFFORD J. LEVY
http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/l/clifford_j_levy/index.html?inline=nyt-per

MOSCOW - Russian security services have broken up what they described as a
terrorist cell in a Muslim region of the country that was preparing female
suicide bombers for attacks on major Russian cities, officials announced on
Monday.

They said six women had been arrested who had already written “farewell
letters” as they were being prepared for deployment. But the officials did
not disclose whether attacks were imminent, or any other details about
planning.

Not that I heard.

I would think that being a cop today is a job rather like walking a tight rope, for no matter who gets named, someone is going to be upset and want to kill the cop and riot to kill a few others.

Snipped/is end of an interesting training article for the ‘o’.

my opinion....granny

What is really interesting about this “spy swap” is the haste in which
Moscow approached Washington offering a bargain. The Kremlin evidently
wanted to get its agents back before they started talking. What was it
trying to hide? The schemes of money laundering involving top Russian
officials? The names of other “sleepers” still living in the West? This is
something we shall hardly ever find out.

Why did the Obama administration act so quickly in returning the spies? It
evidently was not under pressure and could have huckstered over the price.
There are internationally recognised political prisoners in Russia and the
United States could at least have demanded an exchange of one for one, not
one for two and a half.

This was certainly a bad bargain for America.

Natalya Hmelik is a Russian journalist living in Israel.
