BHO is gonna kick the Dow down to 5000 in order to validate the rescue our IRA's and 401K's for us. You forgot that one IMHO.

We'll be lucky to see .30 cents on the dollar, lifetime of compounded interst and gains included.

Go ahead and make a fuss and you'll find you've been a lifelong member of some chritian milita, sponsoring sedition and right wing overthrow of the local DMV office with pipe bombs.

No, Wouldn’t work.
But just for the sake of it le’s say it did happen.
That still wouldn’t explain the oil leaking. They just finished cementing the casing into place. The well should be plugged at the bottom of the casing, that’s about 13,000ft from the BOP, and there is no way for oil to get into the casing.
You could blow the entire BOP off the well and it still wouldn’t leak oil. There is no way for oil to get into the casing. You have to open it up at the bottom in the oil producing zone to get oil to the surface.

Insurance company announces large premium increase just as BO administration is attempting to nationalize health care system.

Add one more to this little "coincidence": I read in the local birdcage liner yesterday that Anthem (the carrier that started this hoo-hah) is considering dropping the rate increase.

As Arsenio Hall used to say: "Things that make you go 'Hmmm...'!"

Shape charges are explosive charges that are designed to be put down the hole and exploded into the rock to allow the oil to flow back to the pipe. Who is to say that someone didn’t tinker with that? I hate to get my tin foil hat out of mothballs but ................ this is just too CONVEENIANT!

I'm not a physics expert, nor an engineer in the petrochemical industry, but I can say with a certain comfort of being accurate, that a 5000 foot length of pipeline stretching from the ocean floor to the surface in the middle of the ocean has certain weaknesses. A fragmenting explosive of any type would seem to slice or fracture such a structure.

The perfect scenareo would be to blow something up on the rig, draw all the attention there, and then damage the well pipeline during the diversion.

Wouldn't a plane flown into a skyscraper do much more to damage America than merely furnishing a pretext for disabling America's development of its oil reserves that dwarf those of Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia combined? I mean, what would anyone stand to gain by an attack on an oil rig way out there in the Gulf?

Why the h*ll send lawyers, SWAT and Department of Justice?

Oh yeah, Obama will do the government takeover of oil...for our own good of course...

So following your logic, just where is the oil coming from then? An explosion on the surface has caused what an explosion near the well at the floor cannot?

Glad I'm not on that jury.

First you would have to drill the cement out of the casing in the productive zone at the bottom of the well befor you perferate.
Then you send down the charges. You need a wireline crew for that.

I’m not buying your theory yet. We have sworn enemies with the ability and will to pull this sort of attack off.

The oil is coming from the bottom of the well in the oil producing zone.
For some reason the cement has turned loose. It happens.
Having to recement is nothing new.
The explosion was probably caused by the gas coming up when the cement turned loose. Probably blew back through the mud tanks.

The well was supposed to be cemented up, it wouldn’t make a difference. No oil should be coming into the casing.

That theory will fog your brain. This may be a plan to use the stupidity of our "democracy" against us. If we don't start producing from our own energy sources we are going to be incapable of viable self defense. Offshore drilling is a thing of the past now, when we need it the most.

Cuba should have been freed about 15 minutes after Fidel showed his true colors. That mistake is coming home now.

We still had some of the old wooden coastal watchtowers around when I was a kid.

“Would a submarine actually have to be IN the Gulf to launch a long-range torpedo?

I’m NOT saying it was torpedoes, but I’m not NOT saying it, either...”

If you knew how stupid these posts make you look, you wouldn’t be posting them.

1. Torpedoes only run 10-15 miles. To be out of the Gulf to launch a torpedo and get to the location of the rig, it would have to have a range 300-400 miles. That is physically impossible. COMPLETELY impossible, technologically and physically.

2. There ARE dozens of scenarios where sabatoge could have occurred. At this point in time, there is NOTHING, no technical information whatsoever, that indicates sabotage.

3. The ONLY thing out of place in this story so far is Oblahma sending SWAT teams to other rigs. THat makes my antennae twitch, but nothing more.

One theory is that it was a North Korean minisub on a suicide run. No one has time to investigate now, stopping the oil flow comes first.

There evidently was a North Korean vessel not far from the area, at the right time.

We may think of the Gulf as ours, it isn't. All kinds of stuff goes on down there, just out of sight.

Use Google Earth, Cuba is just a hop over the straits, foreign shipping is thick in the area.

I don’t give a rip about you or anyone else thinking I look “stupid.”

I’m asking questions—not making assertions, and I’m not going to stop. Of course there are no answers yet. No one has released ANY information on the cause of this.

Good for you that your anntena has only “twitched.” It must be nice living in a comfortable and trusting state of mind.

My grandparents were close friends with a very prominent, wealthy German businessman and local grove owner during this time. They knew him for years before the war. His outstanding character kept him out of the internment camps for Germans. When he suddenly vanished, his shortwave radio was found in one of his pump houses with evidence of his escape by rubber raft. He was a spy sending the subs info on the passing freighters and he escaped before he was caught. The frequent sinkings stopped when he disappeared.
