From KOB News 4 in Albuquerque, N.M.: Our cameras were rolling when an argument between a census worker and homeowner prompts a police response. The homeowner claims the worker was intimidating... and got too aggressive. the worker showed us a ripped up census form. Here's jeremy jojola with an example of how some people really don't like the census. We can use this opportunity to show you what census workers can and can not do when they approach your home. and what should not happen if people refuse to answer the census.....

The news report didn’t answer the question of whether or not a census worker has the right to remain on private property when asked to leave. Anyone know?

The twirp says, “I’m a federal employee, so I have a right to be on your property.” Uh, no. These people have been ginned up by their “superiors” to think they’re superior.

People do not like the Census because they know Obama will manipulate it and use it to harm Americans.

All the TSA mutants at the airport now have badges now like cop badges. Next they will have guns.

The reporter said that a supervisor for the census bureau said they can ask a neighbor about your home if you don't answer. I have never heard that, anyone know if its correct?

There was a story on Drudge yesterday about a case in HI, where a census worker tried to "get tough" with a resident and refused to leave when asked. Well he didn't realize the guy he was trying to intimidate was a deputy sheriff, who had him arrested and charged with trespassing.

Here is a link to the story:

Only when armed with a search warrant, or so says the 4th Amendment. You know, the Amendment that the Left trots out only to justify killing unborn babies.

A very nice little census worker came to my house and asked me the census questions.

I told her how many people lived there and my answer to the other questions was, “You don’t need to know that.” She went through all of the questions, wrote down my answer, thanked me and left.

A month later a “quality control” census worker came back to retake my census form. I answered exactly the same way. He thanked me and left.

There was no hostility (I was prepared for some) and it was fine except for the amount of my money they have spent on this process.

I was nonplussed this past week when a census worker came by and said that we did not send in our form. Yes we did. He also went to every other house on the block.

So none of our forms were received? Riiiiiiight. Gots to keep those jobs created.

after three attempts to reach you personally, census workers then can go to up to three neighbors for a “proxy” response.

Census worker came to my door. I was prepared to say “I’m not going to answer that” if she asked something the government didn’t have any business knowing. Didn’t happen. Everything she asked could easily be found on my tax return and it wasn’t much info... so why make a stink?

The reporter said that a supervisor for the census bureau said they can ask a neighbor about your home if you don't answer. I have never heard that, anyone know if its correct?

It's common practice. But, really, my neighbors only know the bare minimum facts. They don't know how much I make, how many toilets I have, what percentage of this or that race I consider my makeup to be, and so on.

In a way, having your neighbors answer (although its best if they mind their own business) assures an absolute minimum of reliable info.

I truly think that different areas handle this differently - in south orange county (I’m hopefully on my last week of the census) they send one or two other low level employees out, then the crew leader assistant, and finally the crew leader if someone won’t answer. I apparently have the highest rate of “refused to answer” in my group. We are instructed to not take no for an answer and to keep trying. (Worst job ever!)

Finished reading the story about the arrest of the Census worker in Hawaii. So, Barry and Co. are upset that in Arizona the local law enforcement is going to uphold federal immigration law but have no problem with LEOs enforcing the Census?

So I can expect more visits? If my husband answers the door he will just tell them anything they want to know. He thinks I am tilting at windmills.

I am answering the questions and I am friendly. My answer is - You don’t need to know that. The second guy only actually asked one question in addition to - How many people live here? And when I gave my answer he left. They were very far from aggressive in their questioning.

Wow. That is scary.
If these people came to me about my neighbors, I do not care how much I knew I wouldn’t tell them anything.

I wouldn’t either, but you’d be surprised at who tells what about their neighbors.
