The crowd is rowdy with occasional chants of “USA, USA” or “Glenn, Glenn”
A crowd of possibly 300,000 is expected at the Mall on Washington, DC for Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial. We plan to cover it “live” from his Facebook streaming audio.
Lots of surprise guests will be showing up for this blend of religion and patriotism. Last night at the Divine Destiny rally at the Kennedy Center, evangelicals Twila Paris, Dave Roever, and Chuck Norris all made appearances.
Today’s rally will feature veterans who will be introduced by Sarah Palin, Alveda King (niece of Martin Luther King and pro-life advocate), and David Barton.

Yes, I agree. At least you didn’t try to tell me I have no right to express my opinion on the FREERepublic message board. You are free to think my behavior bizarre, but it is essentially the same as everyone else’s.
Apparently he got some message from God that this should be not just a political rally (as he originally intended). Wow. And here I thought God spoke through the Scriptures.
Your opinion was given in a manner befitting one freeper discussing with another. Thats cool, just thought the other guy was being uncivil.
God does speak through his word. However, he really does speak directly through his Holy Spirit.
Honestly this whole thing breaks my heart. I really REALLY like Glenn. He is incredibly talented. I love his sense of humor. I find him entertaining and usually informative. He was really onto something with forging ahead and exposing the left despite persecution. His announcement about his eye problems made me cry. I love the guy. I don’t think it is wise for him to make light of our theological differences. For me, the differences are a matter of life and death in eternity. I cannot make light of them like this. I can work with him politically, but there’s a fine and important line between being political and making one’s political agenda primarily about your faith.
Certainly one’s faith informs their political stance. Absolutely. That’s as it should be. But that doesn’t mean we can say in honesty that we are “all God’s children.” Maybe Glenn can say that, but I am upset by all the professing evangelicals that think this is just fine. I am as concerned as LDS people would be if their family member left or was talking about leaving the LDS church.
Extrabiblical revelation or mysticism (God speaking directly to people) is a mark of a cult, and is why you end up with people having all sorts of strange ideas in the name of God. It is unfortunately very popular in all religions including among evangelical Christians who should know better.
Glenn gave some estimates that ended up being something close to or over a half million.
Lots of concern trolls around today.
If they had anyy courage they would come right out and say what they think instead of this “I really like Glenn...but” crap.
Probably lifelong republicans....but.

cripplecreek you have known me here for a long time. I have seen you on many animal rights wacko threads I used to participate in. I just haven’t been here for a long time because if you express your concerns as an evangelical conservative Christian you immediately get flamed.

Personally, I wish he would keep religion out of this. Make it a purely political/social rally. Or maybe like you said, a political rally of religious people.
I am sorry for that. This kind of attitude, where only those you agree with 100 percent can post without being flamed personally will make this entire board wither on the vine if too many people participate in such an approach.

Alveda King must face some real threats from those still on the plantation.
cripplecreek, it's not cowardice to recognize the positive things that Beck is doing but express concern about the ecumenism that he's advancing by how he's doing them.
That's discernment. Something that's in short supply in politics and the Church today...
