The crowd is rowdy with occasional chants of “USA, USA” or “Glenn, Glenn”

A crowd of possibly 300,000 is expected at the Mall on Washington, DC for Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial. We plan to cover it “live” from his Facebook streaming audio.

Lots of surprise guests will be showing up for this blend of religion and patriotism. Last night at the Divine Destiny rally at the Kennedy Center, evangelicals Twila Paris, Dave Roever, and Chuck Norris all made appearances.

Today’s rally will feature veterans who will be introduced by Sarah Palin, Alveda King (niece of Martin Luther King and pro-life advocate), and David Barton.

This rally is a means of showing that we can speak such words in public on federal grounds. Those who see this as a direct assault on their faith or lack of faith, feel that way for a reason. Its up to them to discover why they feel that they're under assault.

"To the distinguished character of patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian"

Beck is mile wide and an inch deep - I’d rather watch the shopping channel.

My beliefs are personal to me. However, what religion in this country of freedom to worship is bombarded daily over others?....Christianity. I happen to be Christian by choice but my Christianity is not based on a religous affiliation to any particular church that is Christian based. I support anyone with religous beliefs other than mine in their pursuit of worship. However, I also support any movement that emphasizes the point that Christians are being assaulted and it is alright to defend Christian beliefs. It is my feeling that the religous base of this gathering is to emphasize that point..not to promote Christianity. Today is the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s famous speech....he spoke as a Christian....but the message came through....we are all created the same and in our God’s eyes we are the same....we need to unite to see that this is carried forward...not snuffed out by some socialist takeover that will not allow religious beliefs to be expressed, defended, promoted...and ultimaley not allowed. We need to allow Christians to be free and outspoken...not smothered by other beliefs....atheism is a religion....to not have a belief is to have a belief...yet, the atheist voice is being shouted over Christianity because America is primarily a Christian nation...statistically and historically....we have to be silenced so socialism will be the only voice we will hear.
DO NOT GO SILENTLY INTO THE CATACOMBS!! I will not.

Sorry i was unable to update as the ATT network was very unstable with over 1,000,000 at. The event.

I think Glenn did a great job on keeping the young people in the crowd interested. I have my 13,14,15 year old kids and they loved it.

We are staying at the Mandarin Oriental and came back at about 9 30 to grab some things. In the lobby was Al Sharpten and about 8 guys. They had a black panther as their security guy. They look shell shocked as if the gig is up. I got a kick out of the three black Escalades in the drive. Power to the people.

Whatever. I know Beck. I do not know you. Given the opportunity, I’d pray with him about anything, in a second, and know with confidence those prayers were heard.

From my personal experience in talking with him, he is a born again Christian, WHATEVER he calls himself otherwise.

"Lots of concern trolls around today. If they had anyy courage they would come right out and say what they think instead of this “I really like Glenn...but” crap. Probably lifelong republicans....but." That is just ridiculous. I do think Beck does lots of good with his political stuff. But you are acting like we have to buy it all or none. He is no historian, he makes it up to support his Mormon viewpoint.

Why so angry? Is this the love of diversity that Glenn Beck called you to?

As a Christian who HAS prayed with Glenn Beck, I found his sentiments more in line with traditional Christianity than 90% of the whack jobs I hear at the “feel-good” churches.

Thank you. :)

The philanthropist Hussman receiving the Charity Merit medal award is completely predictable. Not even showing up for the award was not.

John Huntsman's granddaughter's wedding took place at the same time the 828 rally did. He chose family over himself. he chose well.

Hey there! No worries - I figured the networks were pretty overloaded!

Interesting about RevAl+Crew! The Twitter feed was very inspiring (Todd Starnes RT’d my observation that there would be no trash on the ground) and silly (the snarky wannabes trying to make fun of it - they just looked juvenile).

One woman tweeted that the left had people trolling through the crowd, trying to pick fights. She saw someone assaulted. Did you see any of that?

Glad you all had a great time! I’m relieved everyone was safe.

I agree...the Jesus of the Mormons is not the Jesus who existed always with the Father and said “Before Moses was, I Am,” who is The Word (In the beginning was the Word...and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”)

The Mormon’s Jesus was a mortal man, born along with his brother, Lucifer, to a man who then became god. And Mormons believe that they, too, will become gods, just as Jehovah was once a man, (in their belief system) who then became a god.

The two belief systems are antithetical to each other...completely incompatible.

I could never join in prayer with a Mormon as we believe in two separate and distinctly unequal Gods, it would be like praying with an Muslim to Allah, or with a Hindu to Vishnu or Krishna.

I still love what Glenn Beck does and I wish him and his rally the best of success...but only in a political sense, his “Christianity” is not the Biblical Christianity I believe in.

Ed

Yes the left had people trying to pick fights they were easy to see they were the ones with a camera crew near by. I told one guy God Bless You and he said something back.

Sharpeton had 8 guys with him all older and they looked shell shocked. I think they were scared as at 9:30am many people were still coming in. My son who is 14 says Dad look a Black Panther for real, I laughed.

My wife observed a woman replacing a trash bag with her own and placing the full one a side. These were her personal bags. Pretty amazing when Patriots are on parade.
