Stop stealing my retread ZOT!
SmallGovTimes ^ | 9/8/10 | John Jay Myers

Originally the message of the Tea Party seemed clear “Less taxes and spending”. Simple enough, Right? Somehow they have gotten distracted. Very, very distracted. I know that all Tea Parties and their participants are different, so it is not fair for me to throw them all under the bus.

So for those who are distracted; let me attempt to recapture your attention.

You wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of breaking glass, when you stumble out of your bed into the living room you find a man standing there with your TV in his arms. Of course your first reaction is to exclaim loudly and with all of your energy “Should gays be allowed to marry?” Wait, I am sorry, no you don’t, you scream “Should they build a Mosque in New York City?”, no wait, you say “What’s your stance on abortion?”

Of course not you scream “Stop stealing my stuff!”...

My point to this is simple, if 80% of the people in America believe that our government is corrupt, what is the point of dividing ourselves? As long as you are preoccupied with these other topics, you wont have time to focus on the real issues. You can argue about gay marriage, abortion and other religions, after we get these people out of office so they will “Stop stealing our stuff!”

Nope.

Murdering babies in the womb is as “real” as an “issue” can get.

They see that train going up over the hill, and damned if they don't want it to carry as much of their water as possible!

We can get 80% of people to agree that we are Taxed Enough Already. TEA = Taxed Enough Already.

Throw in a bunch of other issues and that 80% starts going down, get down below 50% and that train isn't going over the hill anymore - but at least it carried your water for you! A little ways!

Of course it is; but how you address the issue is job one.

Without first removing the enablers (you know, the ones with the power, the guns and the Department of Justice,) by whatever means is most effective, you can never actually do anything about it but pontificate.

Get real.
Please.

This is total, stupid nonsense.

First, there is the moral issue. Killing babies is wrong, and undermines everything else. Gay marriage is wrong, and undermines everythig else.

Second, there is the freedom issue. Unless people have religious and moral values, a truly free society cannot exist, because they are incapable of governing themselves. If they cannot impose self discipline, then you need the state police to do it for them.

Third, there is the issue of winning elections. You cannot win elections unless you build a conservative coalition, and that means appealing to the social conservatives, notably Evangelicals. If they stay home, you have lost the election.

That guy who just broke into your house isn’t just stealing your TV. He’s also killing your baby.

On the issue of abortion a womans perogative to end life that she began is sacrosanct with the father and more importantly, the baby having no say whatsoever.

My solution?

Hand the baby a sword and let the mother and child work things out.

At least then there will be a fighting chance.

Nope. 50% pay no federal income tax. However, I know poor people who would normally vote for the person who will raise others taxes to support the programs they depend on but who will not vote for anyone who supports killing babies.

It's not single issue politics that will restore our Country but a collaboration of those who have strong support for traditional values, even if the emphasis on certain issues is different among them.

More like 40% that pay no federal income tax.

No single issue is going to restore our Republic, but is it OK if the TEA party is the “Taxed Enough Already” group, while the NRA does the RTKBA thing, and while the National Right to Life is the anti-abortion group?

Or does the TEA party have to be all things to all (conservative) people at all times?

It’s My Money
In this commercial, reminiscent of the 1976 film Network, individuals are empowered by a J.G. Wentworth commercial to take charge of their financial situation. As with any neighborhood, word travels quickly, and soon, the entire community is staking their passionate claim: “It’s my money, and I need it now!”

Everyone who is silent and accepts the murder of the unborn is worse than the most vile of child molesters. Drilling a hole in a baby’s head and sucking the brain out is the worst form of child molesting.

The faces and the screams of the unborn dead will haunt them for all eternity in Hell.

In Engineering school, we are taught “Do NOT allow the quest for perfection to make you miss what’s ‘good enough’.”

The ‘main thing’ in the coming elections ( multiple cycles beginning in 2010 ) is to purge the system of the progressive / liberal / anti-constitutional / anti-American elements. Otherwise, we get NO progress towards ‘restoring the America’ we all seem to want.

Anybody who’s on that mission is on my side, regardless of which particular issue motivates him / her. I’ll happily ‘fellow-travel’ with the Pro-lifers, Christians, Fair-taxers, Libertarians, Blue-dogs or whatever as long as they’re working WITH me to dump “ ... the progressive / liberal / anti-constitutional / anti-American elements ... “ yada-yada-yada.

Anybody who thinks we can ‘restore America’ in one sweeping electoral ‘fit’ doesn’t understand the mission.

Another thing we were taught was called the Pareto principle — SOMETHING is causing the majority ( like up to 80% or more ) of the trouble. Solve THAT and you’ve solved 80% of your problems. Then, among whatever’s left, SOMETHING is causing the majority ( like up to 80% or more ) of the trouble. Solve THAT and you’ve solved ANOTHER 80% of your remaining problems. Then, among whatever’s left ... Lather, rinse and repeat ‘til done.

Now, go on back to your corners and come out FIGHTING !

One man’s opinion ...

Ground Zero Mosque is about money (Taxpayer money used to finance the building, the loss of revenue and damage to the economy by those who want the mosque built there etc.)

Gay Marriage is an argument about equal rights under the law. The reason they can make this argument is because the government gives monetary goodies to married persons in the form of tax breaks etc.

Abortion is about killing unborn babies AND using taxpayer money to do it with.

Its always about money...

Always...

but marriage is rewarded by society because it offers benefits to the future of society. Homosexual conduct offers nothing zip nada to society.

Same for Mosque, it only offers to go back 800 or so years to the dark ages.

"but marriage is rewarded by society because it offers benefits to the future of society."

Sorry the "Some Big Government is OK" argument is the very definition of the slippery slope. If your argument is that "Some Social Engineering is OK as long as I agree with it", then you are going to lose in the courts because equal protection under the law means just that.

Know that if the government had not given monetary goodies to married folks the gay marriage issue would have no standing.

turning the ship of state is done a bite at a time...a conservative first on economics then comes the social issues. Some may not like to hear that but that is how the liberals made a mess of this country, it didn't happen overnight and the abortion issue has made great head way in changing hearts, that won't stop, but the economics must be #1 or you lose every time if economics is not a major consideration first....then go after all the social issues..

Those that pray outside of clinic's will continue and people will continue to change minds....The prayers of the righteous do more for moral issues.

Get enough conservatives backing a conservative president and the subject will still be up to the supreme court.... thats where a conservative president can make a difference..

Look I don't like the idea of Gay Marriage. However when the government allowed monetary consideration for marriage it opened the door.

Like it or not if the government had not done so Gay Marriage would be dead in the water.

And that my friend is fact.

"Well, we’re not going to allow government to redefine marriage either. It’s none of the federal government’s business."

My point exactly. But when we allow government in just a little bit they never stop.

My fear is that the ultimate demise of traditional marriage was started by well meaning politicians who wanted to help folks in traditional marriage by giving them monetary consideration.

Its a lesson I am going to take to heart and remember each time I want the government to do something. Grandpa told me it is wise to be careful what you ask for. Because you may get it...

Know that if the government had not given monetary goodies to married folks the gay marriage issue would have no standing.

Even when they're given all of the monetary goodies via civil unions they still want their homosexual relationships to be considered marriage. It is a matter of pride to these freaks. They won't be satisfied until everyone is forced to accept the term 'marriage' as they redefine it (homosexual). And even then they won't be satified. They regard criticism of homosexuality as 'hate speech' and demand those openly critical of it be punished by the state.

This is the new mantra and talking points for RINOs and even Demo's. Ergo: "We need to solve the economic/jobs crisis before we even address social issues."

Wrong!!! Values, morals, and social issues are the foundations of our beliefs.
EVERYTHING else follows including economic justice, deficit spending, size of gov't vs GDP, etc.

Oh no doubt. Money is the wedge they use to get the door opened just a crack. Now they will bludgeon it off of the hinges with the courts. Government stuck it's nose into marriage and now we get to suffer the consequences.

It should be a lesson to us all. When the government starts to get into something we should all shout STOP no matter how good it sounds!
