The definition has evolved. First, it was somone pimping their blog by placing it in a sidebar. Then it became someone simply posting an excerpt of a regular news article on their blog to generate hits. Now, it's become someone who posts original material in the Bloggers Forum where it belongs.

You are not a pimp for simply posting blog articles in the bloggers forum. You are a pimp if you needlessly excerpt your articles to get hits. Really, what real reason can a blogger have for excerpting from his blog? Their blogs are not on FR's 'excerpt only' list. They are using FR as a platform for promoting their blog. That is unacceptable.
Well, you could always create your own website and forbid this terrible behavior.
Or the blogpimps could quit breaking FR’s rules. :)

Yes, they do tend to post and run. But when someone posts a challenge to their pimping process on one of their threads, they can get quite verbose....and nasty. They sometimes even freak out and start posting to themselves.
Blog pimps can be entertaining.
