Democrat senator Sherrod Brown says that unemployment benefits, not tax cuts, create jobs. Appearing on the lowly rated and hardly watched "Hardball" program on MSNBC on Tuesday, Brown took a page out of his Minority Leaders playbook by ineptly declaring that unemployment benefits are the way to economic prosperity in the US. In the same breath, Brown also decried tax cuts as not doing anything for the US economy in terms of growing jobs for people who want them. Sane people would think that Brown was doing unfunny stand-up comedy, but Brown was being 100% serious. He is the second prominent Democrat after Nancy Pelosi in the last couple of months to declare this ignorant and deranged lie that forms the core of the Democrats economic message.

This is really doing nothing for my headache...
He’s a trust fund baby who has never worked a day in his life.
Please explain to me why once the effects of the Reagan tax cuts started to cut in from fall 1982 on the economy took off like a missile? The Reagan tax cuts was the reason why the 1980's were such booming economic times.
Who knew the answer to the economic recovery has been right before our eyes all along?
He looks like a Bum with a cup on the street.
This is like baling out the boat by drilling holes in the bottom.
They need to set about effecting his unemployment ASAP.
What is not Pelosi whom had said earlier that Unemployment Benefits creates Jobs? She also said that Food stamps make money for America. For every 1.00 spent in Food Stamps a 1.57 is created. This most be an approved democratic talking point. Unemployment benefits and Food stamps are costing each inividual state money - the unemployment benefits funds that the employer unemployment compensation insurance is paying into has to borrow money in order to pay the unemployment compensation amounts that have been extended in excess of the 13 weeks that the law originally intended. Food Stamps funding is being funded by the US Government whom is printing and borrowing money it does not have.
Correct me if I am wrong but how are these programs creating jobs. The grocery store is not hiring any additional employees. And the few restaurants in my area are having to lay off employees because not enough people are eating at restaurants. some restaurants having increased the number of days they remain closed because the number of patrons has decreased significantly.
Unemployment Compensation, I can tell in my neighborhood there are 17 people whom receive it. 1 guy is out there on a daily basis looking for work. The reason I know is that I allow him to borrow a car for him look for work. His wife is now hospitalized with a brain tumor. They have 6 children from their prvious marriages. The other 16 are not looking for work and have no intention of looking for work. Allow me to quote “ It is nice that I can get a paid vacation, and I make 275.00 a week for 99 weeks and when the benefits run out in March 2011, I will start to look for work.” So in turn they get Food Stamps and medical care too. No desire to look for work. What a rip off.
I did too. I was astonished that no one asked "Fair enough, but who will pay for the UE benefits?"
I'd like to see a Dim's head explode on National TV.
Yep. This guy is so dumb that he likely believes that he's making himself richer by taking a $100 bill out of his left pocket and putting it in his right.
How did that HILLBILLY get his money?
OMG, you close your eyes and it sounds like Jack Kemp. The only diff is that Kemp had more brains in his left pinkie finger than this guy has in his entire body!
Daddy was a doctor, I think. Socialist Sherrod thus got to spend many years in college and then “graduate” into politics.
What we need are more layoffs to stimulate the economy according to these Dem dimwits.
So we should hope for 20% or 30% unemployment?
Are the Dems a great political party or what?
