Guess Which Major TV Host Thinks Obama Is Not Really a Christian (Video)
The Blaze ^ | 02/12/11 | Scott Baker

When someone says they don’t think President Barack Obama is actually a Christian, the expectation would be that they think he’s secretly a Muslim. Not Bill Maher. On tonight’s Real Time, in the process of arguing that Obama’s not really a centrist politically, Maher also revealed that he doesn’t think Obama’s actually Christian, either, but rather a secular humanist.

The belief Maher apparently holds – that Obama isn’t actually a Christian, but merely pretends to be one to keep up appearances for the sake of his political career – strikes us as one of the most cynical things anyone could possibly believe about Obama.

Black Liberation Theology is the worship of communism. It is a hateful ideology that uses religion as cover. It's a lot like Islam in that regard. Moslums can attend a church like reverend Wright's because they hate the same groups of people.

His grandparents were Unitarian/universalists that rarely attended church.. he only joined the church in Chicago for political contacts as a community organizer. .

I would tend to agree that he is a secular Humanist ..all religions are the same to him .. so he can embrace Muslims without a conflict

While I don’t really think O worships any god but himself, I do think he likes the rituals and trappings of Islam, for no better reason that it alarms and upsets conservatives and Christians. Islam is a good match with Marxism, at least until they succeed in bringing down the west. Then they’ll fight with each other, and the mullahs will force creeps like Maher to bow to Mecca and “say the magic words” that will make Maher a Muslim.

RE My belief for a long time. He’s a Christian for show and panders to Islam because he, like they, hate the west and the USA in particular. At his core, Obama is an atheist who worships only himself and his fascist agenda.
Spot on, NewHampshireDuo. What you said bears repeating.

It may well be cynical. That has no bearing on whether it is true.

Put me down with the cynics. Hard to believe how naive some people are.

Ubama is an atheist, just like he was raised to be by his self-proclaimed atheist mother. When Ubama landed in Chicago to launch his political career as a “Reverend” Al Sharpton-style “community organizer”, he needed a nice big church with lot of nice big networking potential. Thank you, “Reverend” Wright.

All true, but it depends on your definition. (is?)

You are born into a Catholic family. You attend Catholic elementary school. You attend mass every Sunday with your family. You pray to God. The sound of the cathedral bells, calling you to mass, was one of the prettiest sounds on Earth.

You become president. The first major speech you make is at the Vatican. You make your case to the millions of Catholics world wide. When visiting Catholic countries, you bow to their Catholic leaders. You defend Catholics every chance you get. You take the Catholics side in every dispute.

(I could go on & on, defending the Catholic Brotherhood for one, these things were just off the top of my head without researching it)

If I were to ask you if you were Catholic, could you credibly say NO? Is there any reason we should believe you?

p.s Oh, you attended reverend Wrongs “Mosque of Allah” for twenty years so you can claim to be a Muslim?

Does that make the members of the Westboro Baptist Church real Christians?

Mathew 7:

15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Maher believes Obama to be a secular humanist. Obama, especially recently, has been asserting his Christianity.
If Maher is correct, Obama is at best a hypocrite, at worst a liar.

“Anyway, no one knows what’s in O’s heart, but he doesn’t act like a Christian, more like a muslim.”

To paraphrase that Gump guy:
“Muslim is as Muslim does”.

Yes, I definitely agree with you on that point. I think he likes them because they give him some influence with a certain segment of the black population (who might not be disposed to view Obama as that authentically black, to coin a phrase). I also think there is a pseudo-intellectual cool factor in play. Of course, there are a lot of other themes in his background that probably explain it as well.

Then why did 0bama blurt out “my muslim faith” in an interview with George Steponallofus?

Truthfully, my gut feeling is because the word "faith" has so little meaning for Obama. To me, that whole world view just doesn't register for him-- there is not much beyond him. I mean, this is a guy who defined sin as "failing to live up to my values"-- like he's the arbiter of sin! He seems to me to be almost completely self-centered.

I think Obama was trying to convey (as usual) his worldly upbringing, superiority to the rest of us, etc., etc., and used a clumsy way to refer to his Muslim background. I don't know the exact interview to which you refer, but if he was off teleprompter, he's clumsy at best. And I think he was using "faith" as a synonym for "background," in trying to remind everyone of his role as World Citizen Who Can Heal the Planet. I think he is careless in his tossing around the word "faith" precisely because it doesn't mean that much to him. Who knows, I may be entirely wrong but that's just the gut feeling I've always had about him. I've never felt that Obama "gets" any concept that requires submission to an authority higher than himself.

I see your point, but I don’t think you can be a Catholic unless you believe in the Catholic faith. Doesn’t matter how many years of Catholic school, perfect mass attendance, defending Catholics in political issues, etc. If you don’t believe in the faith, you’re not a Catholic as I would understand the term.
