Slouching Towards Argentina
From Sea to Shining Sea ^ | 3/16/11 | Purple Mountains

Argentina has always been a fascinating place for anyone who takes a look at their history and the events that occur there. W.E.B. Griffin, my favorite author, has written a series of delightful books about the lives of American agents operating in Argentina during World War II. Argentina evokes a sense of ridicule as you read of their crazy customs and history, which has often involved violence and the really ugly side of socialism.

As we contemplate the economic policies of our current President and the actions of public service union members in Wisconsin and elsewhere (on Monday, Wisconsin school teachers brought young school children to the state capitol to chant insults at their governor in an atmosphere of serious death threats that are also being made against him), is it a great stretch to think that we are on the road to becoming another Argentina?

I have no problem putting up a blog post on FR for hits to prime the pump. Would it be that there are a million well trafficked conservative blogs out there for people out there to get the truth at.

E did not know that Griffin had written on WWII Argentina. It was really an exiting time. The FBI and Hoover, who felt that the OSI had taken control of US intelligence at the start of WWII, was given a sop, and Roosevelt allowed FBI agents to roam throughout Argentina, Paraguay and southern Brazil. The U.S. Archives are replete with information on this little known and fascinating byway of American history.

Thanks for posting. I would liken the situation more as Obama and the Fed sprinting us towards Argentina with the current out of control spending and money printing.

If they include the entire text and it is worth a damn I might go to they blog for more.

Posting just for hits to drive traffic from FR to a MySpace page is BS.

You can take it to the bank that I and many others will not be clicking on the link.
