On the Passing of Geraldine Ferraro
by Sarah Palin on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 9:59am
My family and I would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of Geraldine Ferraro. When I had the honor of working alongside Geraldine on election night last year, we both discussed the role of women in politics and our excited expectation that someday that final glass ceiling would be shattered by the election of a woman president. She was an amazing woman who dedicated her life to public service as a teacher, prosecutor, Congresswoman, and Vice Presidential candidate. She broke one huge barrier and then went on to break many more. The world will miss her. May she rest in peace and may her example of hard work and dedication to America continue to inspire all women.

Comparing Gaddafi to Ferraro?
Get real!
What do you think legalized abortion is, if not a holocaust? Get real!
The weird thing about Geraldine Ferraro is that although she is a democrat, I have seen her interviewed numerous times on the Fox News Channel and it kind of freaked me out that she, Ferraro, was starting to come around to some very conservative viewpoints.
Especially the treatment of conservative women by liberals and such organizations as NOW.
Mondale said a few minutes ago that Ferraro was committed to social justice.
Good thing she never got into the WH.
If I were you I would ask the mods to remove your post, and you should try again the next time try to sound less like Democrat Underground.
She is dead and has suffered for 10 years. Do you have any humanity? Everyone here knows her history, and now we know yours.
I’m pro life. My wife is pro choice. Does that make her Gaddafi too?
That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. And on the day she passed away.
May she rest in peace.
Maybe its me, but why does Palin have to make a statement here? Not everything requires commentary from everyone.
Why would you accuse me of having no humanity or being a democrat? I’ve been a proud conservative my whole life, and am true to my principles. I find it interesting that instead of discussing the issues and where you disagree with me on the merits, you choose to personally attack me. Isn’t that what the other side does-launch personal attacks? I will not do the same and will choose not to personally attack you, but I am curious where am I wrong on the issues here? Is legalized abortion not a holocaust?
If you are so pro-life then I ask you point-blank- Do you consider abortion to be murder? I do. If you feel the same way, you would think you would be more bothered by it. And it’s not a matter of her resting in peace or not. As a pro-life person I want everyone to rest in peace, the born and the un-born. I just have a hard time praising someone who supports abortion.
***Is legalized abortion not a holocaust?***
Yes, it is.
And Sarah’s tribute to Ferraro was carefully phrased by giving credit to a woman who ran for vice president but w/o mentioning abortion. Sarah’s showing class.
Like I said in my first comment...she’s probably a much better person than I.
There is no doubt that “political correctness” runs both ways. In other words we resent the left trying to mold our words into their prescribed patterns and lexicon. But it seems that there are those on the right who will not allow a gal like Sarah to demonstrate her traditional American values and decency, good class and manners, and just be honest with her comments. God Bless Sarah!
While may prayers are with the family please consider becoming a bone marrow donor. It is one of the best solutions for many people.

I think Sarah hit the perfect tone in her letter of sympathy to the family.
I live in NYC and am on the total opposite side of the political spectrum from Gerry Ferraro. But I always found her to be someone with whom you could always have an open, honest, respectful dialogue.
She was a woman of great personal accomplishment and set a tone sorely missing in politics today. If it weren’t for women like Gerry Ferraro, we wouldnt have women like Sarah or Michele Bachmann.
My sympathies to her family.. May she rest in peace.
I did not agree with much of anything that the poor woman opined, but she was a human being that showed a lot of courage in her life, especially after she was beaten up in 2008 by the obama thugs.
unnecessarily Harsh words for a terminally ill Wife,Mother,Grandmother, and human being will just play into the hands of the Left Wing Media and all the Democrat crazies that troll this website just looking for examples of right wing conservative hate speech.
On purpose or just tone deaf?
Amen!!!!!!!!
You can call me tone-deaf all you want, but again- what about the merits of what I said? You obviously can’t disagree with me on the issues or you would have already said so. My opinions are my opinions and I cannot compromise my conservative values for fear of what the media is going to think. That’s what politicians do and that’s what we need less of in this country. Say what you think and mean what you say and if others can’t handle it, then they can’t handle the truth.
