So keep watching your ball games and BS because ALL of TV supports Obama and Islam. This is why. And if you think it is a big joke - enjoy when oil is $150 to 200 a barrel, the dollar is worthless and a gallon of gas is $5. Keep watching TV cause they is screwing you real good.

You're talking about mext week right as barrel of oil is over $105 now and gas is almost $4/gal already.

That’s what makes no sense he was getting stellar rating but no ad revenue? Those two things don’t go together. It’s an either or thing, not both.

Soros is no friuend of FOX or Murdoch, so that comment would not have any influence over Beck leaving Fox.

Time slot? Good ratings at 8 PM or 9 PM are a lot more profitable than good ratings at 5 PM.

Those boycotts worked. Big name advertisers didn't want to associate with his program, so Fox had to settle for some of the ones that have already been mentioned - PetMeds, Goldline et. al.

There's a reasonable, even likely chance that whomever replaces Beck will double (or more) the ad revenue, even though they may not reach the same level of ratings.

Of course, Beck has been getting almost the exact same number of viewers as Bret Baier and Shephard Smith's 7pm show. I think his replacement will probably do the same without the advertiser problems.

The last several years, Judge Judy routinely crushes Oprah in the ratings. Yet, Oprah is a billionaire, many times over, and Judge Judy isn't. Why is that? Because advertisers will pay MUCh more for a viewer of Oprah's program than they will for a viewer of Judge Judy's program.

Not true, Oprah's rich syndication deals started 20 years ago. Judge Judy got her big deal just 2 years ago. It is richer than Oprah's. Give her time. Remember that Rush Limbaugh will likely be a billionaire within the next 5 years based upon his current contract. It takes time.

I doubt a Shepard Smith @ 5pm will get the ratings Beck got. Ad revenue will possibly be higher if this so called boycott is lifted. How long has this been going on, as I have never heard Beck mention this on his radio show.

"It is richer than Oprah's."

No one makes more in daytime television than Oprah. In fact, it's not even close.

"Oprah's rich syndication deals started 20 years ago"

And Judge Judy's started 15-years ago.

Oprah makes more because advertisers want to reach the Oprah demographic more than they want to reach the Judge Judy Demo. Why? Because Oprah viewers are more educated and have higher household incomes - much higher.

It comes down to Q-ratings and very specific Nielsen demo groups. Even with Oprah's diminished ratings the last two years, she's still king - king of the $$$$.

Public bet. How much?

You’re wrong, of course.
Unless he is replaced by someone LIKE him or better. Say.... Levin.

I don't know if Shep is going to get that job. But, whomever gets it, doesn't need Beck's ratings. He/She just needs to improve on Beck's ad-revenue. That should be very, very easy.

"How long has this been going on...'

Since the fall of 2009, I think. Fox thought that it would eventually pass. It hasn't, and in fact it has gotten progressively worse. Then, when the ratings began to fall as well, it really became a no-brainer for Fox.

I see we have another person who apparently can't wrap their heads around the business of television. It quite simply is NOT only about how many people watch. It is entirely about how much advertisers will pay. Usually those two dovetail, sometimes they don't. It Beck's case, they didn't.

Whoever replaces Beck will easily attract advertisers better than Goldline and PetMeds. It's business 101.

I dont think so. beck made some statements that made me believe that he is being supported by FOX and that what he is planning will be even more wide spread with their help.

Check “the blaze” for further information .. he is slamming Chris matthews in a piece where he talks about it

Appreciate it.

Technically, Viacom has a parent company as well: Sumner Redstone’s ‘National Amusements’.

Perhaps somebody who is computer literate could locate the trend of Beck’s advertising revenues over the last few years?

That's not public information, as far as I know. You can track ratings, and Becks are way down, and of course the number of viewers is what advertisers are paying for.

Who could possibly get better ratings in that slot than Beck. John Gibson couldn’t do it and Laura Ingraham completely bombed in that slot.

"Who could possibly get better ratings in that slot than Beck."

From FNC's business perspective, it's not about getting better ratings than Beck, it's entirely about generating more ad-revenue than Beck. Given Beck's ad-revenue, that will be very, very easy.

"John Gibson couldn’t do it and Laura Ingraham completely bombed in that slot."

I don't know about Ingraham, after all she wasn't on very long, but Gibson handily beat his competition in that time-slot, every day. Ultimately, that's all FNC cares about. But, it does them no good to whoop their competition while at the same time only be able to secure advertisers such as Pet-Meds and Goldline. They need to be able to appeal to the name brand companies that are willing to let go of the big ad dollar.
