Glenn Beck makes it official Hes leaving New York City
Wire Update ^ | April 16, 2011 | Joe Brooks

Posted on 04/16/2011 8:30:21 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck announced Saturday he has finally sold his Connecticut home and will be moving out of New York City in the near future.

After a year of teasing on both his radio and television programs, Beck made the announcement during a live broadcast on GlennBeck.com from Albany, New York. Beck said leaving New York would be part of his post-Fox News life.

Other notes from the broadcast (via @JoeBrooks):

- Glenn Beck said there were Pro-Glenn Protesters outside the theater today.

- When Glenn Beck brought up Donald Trump a few people in the audience began cheering, Glenn replied, “Really?”

- “I don’t know where [Obama is from] I don’t think he’s from where they issue birth certificates – I think he’s from Hell.”

- Glenn in a Satan voice: “Put your little hooves on this paper” refering to Barack Obama’s birth certificate

- ”It’s time to take personal responsibility and it’s time to be honest with the American People.”

- Glenn Beck places Allen West as President and Michelle Bachmann as VP. Someone in crowd yells “Ron Paul” He says I have plans for Ron Paul

- Glenn says that Ron Paul should be Sec of Treasury, and as Secretary of Defense would be… no one, we have Allen West as President.

- Glenn Beck: @theblaze is only the beginning of news and information that i will be providing for radio, television, and internet.

- Glenn Beck: I’m about to build a research department that will utilize the idle brains that we have, retired CIA, military, phd’s

- Glenn Beck: I’m going to make sure that Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart don’t occupy the space of comedy alone.

- Glenn Beck: What you are about to see in a few months is a new way to communicate with each other …

- Glenn says he going to build a way to deliver news directly to the youth of America.

- Glenn Beck: We were each born with a purpose, born at this time for a reason. I don’t care what your [situation] is, your job is. You were born here for a purpose and the first thing you’ve got to do is… have no fear. Have no fear.

- Glenn Beck: The last thing I will be doing, I will be leaving New York City.

- Glenn Beck: As we build a new media I’m not building it in New York.

- Glenn Beck: [America isn't great] because we only have two crappy castles, one in Florida and one in Anaheim. (joking about Disney’s castles).

- In the Q&A session Glenn says the only time he’d be running is when he’s yelling at other people to RUN! (as in for the hills).

You go Glenn!!

I am looking forward to a new media. The dinosaur media needs to go.

I expect that Glenn’s decision to move has more to do with his physical problems than anything else. That is probably a big reason he left Fox. That and the fact that he is stymied somewhat by what he can and can’t say on the air. They allow him some leeway, but, I’m almost positive he is on a chain.

If he had been fired, I seriously doubt he would be asked to do specials for the station. Let’s wait and see what materializes.

Sometimes he seems a little kooky, but, maybe he is more sane than his critics???

God bless Glenn, his health and family. He certainly
gave me the most unexpected and meaningful insight into
details of our history I never knew.

Review of his event in Chicago

http://leisureblogs.chicagotribune.com/the_theater_loop/2011/04/glenn-beck-chicago-theatre-review.html

Excerpt:

If Thursday night’s mighty strange and thoroughly fascinating show revealed anything, it’s that Beck is moving away from the political arena and toward the religious realm, albeit one of his very singular definition.

The open question is how many of his followers from the Fox News Channel are ready to make the same journey. (The Chicago Theatre was less than half full Thursday, but then Beck was playing a town from which he only half-jokingly suggested that those who stand with him should move.)

Beck, a far smarter man than many realize, clearly knows that it will be a tricky transition, economically and otherwise, and that it will require all his considerable charm and force of personality.

But you sense that Beck now has decided that it must be done. Come hell or high water. He doesn’t want to be a pundit so much as a preacher.

“I had been feeling that a great chance was coming for me” he said, clearly not just referring to his recently announced departure from Fox.

Beck has, he told us, been spending time with the Reverend Billy Graham. In his two-hour show (one hour of Beck yakking, mostly extemporaneously, and one of his mostly taking pre-selected questions from the audience) Beck spoke much of God’s purpose and human sin. Although he did not, tellingly, mention the name Jesus Christ.

“You don’t have a single right,” Beck told a rather perplexed audience clearly very much invested in precisely those privileges of American citizenship. “They belong to him,” he said, pointing skywards. “There is an overarching plan that started with Adam and Eve. We were supposed to be the guardians, but instead we reached for the apple.”

For his new headquarters location, I’d suggest Peculiar Missouri, Odd, West Virginia, or maybe Ding Dong, Texas.

I would suggest Uncertain, Texas. Beautiful country, sleepy village filled with artists, craftsmen and other free-thinkers. Look it up.

How is it Beck says those things about Obama’s so called birth certificate, yet is a rabid critic of “birthers”.

Pick a lane Beck.

Agreed! Beck is a budding rock star and will only get better as he ages.

He is brilliant, funny, witty and as Brett Baer closes with every night Unafraid.

Also, what kind of social life could a person like him have in a place that is rife with “progressives”?

What do you mean ‘rife with “progressives”’?

There are plenty of conservatives in New York City, you can trust me on this, because I know all of them. The five of us meet for drinks/dinner every other Wednesday night.

Texas, that would be cool.

He'd fit right in. As of 2009, one in 87 Texans is LDS. Here's the stats.

Members, 278,492
Stakes, 53
Wards, 425
Branches, 117
Districts, 3
Missions, 8
Temples, 4
Percent LDS, 1.1

Maybe one of the reasons we're in such trouble is we're more concerned with political pedigree and name recognition than we are with electing leaders. IMNSHO, it's well past time we stop doing things the way we've been doing it for 235 years, and start doing things that will work. I mean, electing governors, senators, vice presidents and flag officers -- in other words, electing politicians -- has gotten us to where we are today, so maybe it's time we start electing businessmen, field grade officers, and "Joe the Plumbers". IOW, we need to elect leaders instead of pedigreed politicians.

Had LTC West been a flag officer, I'd probably not vote for him, because once an officer pins on a star, he becomes a politician. You could even say that once an officer pins on eagles, he's a politician in training, or a wanna-be politician. What appeals to me about LTC West, Herman Cain and Donald Trump is that they're not politicians, they're real world leaders.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

Spooky Dude?

Laundered through several of the 300+ "Charitable" organizations he funds?

the author sucks. but Beck see that you can’t beat evil without a fight. He wants out of NYC because that is no place to be when thing get worse and for him personally people are against him there so he doesn’t feel safe. That and he has plans to help America. yeah Glenn’s all over the map. But he wants to do something drastic to save America.

...and, isn’t Texas a state without state income taxes?

No income tax in Tennessee, either...and the property taxes are a hell of a lot lower than Texas.
