How many county sheriffs in any state have an overall effect on statewide crime statistics? And there's that word, crook, again. To me, that means someone who takes what is not his, or lies to enable taking by others for his own benefit. Since Sheriff Arpaio is percevied to be a right winger, would the leftist media not have published even the slightest hint of misbehavior? They certainly bitched enough about his treatment of prisoners.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but based on the evidence presented I'd have to vote not guilty.
So was the Bush administration. I seem to remember one such that lasted approx. 3 years at the cost of millions of dollars just to see which one of those thugs outed Valerie Plame as a "covert" CIA agent........
