Voters everywhere are asking the same question: Is Governor Huckabee a conservative or a progressive? Progressivism is a modern marketing package to hide the fact that someone is a liberal. Since liberalism has lost popularity among the voters, this shrewd marketing plan was created to rebrand liberals as progressives so some voters might be fooled into voting for someone they would otherwise not support.
To find out whether Governor Huckabee is a conservative is simple. Look at his platform and his principles. When he ran to become the nominee of The Republican party in the past, he was the only leading candidate who proposed a system called The Fair Tax. Mike proposed eliminating all income taxes, social security taxes, estate taxes, gift taxes, capital gains taxes, alternative minimum taxes, corporate and small business self-employment taxes, and Medicare payroll taxes. He proposed simplifying the tax system so dramatically that there would be no more need for the IRS. In principle, he believes the Government should serve the people rather than cause them to experience great pain and paralyzing fear like many experience at tax time. By shutting down the IRS, he wants to make politicians focused on serving their constituents within limited Government constitutional boundaries.
Does that sound like any kind of progressive or liberal you have ever heard? Simple Answer: NO!

Huck wll be whatever you want him to be.
The Huckster is a progressive.
He could probably be described as a nannyCon or a big Government Republican. Just the statement on this article alone that the government should ‘serve’ the people shows this disconnect. The government’s primary role is to defend individual liberty. It isn’t here to rule nor serve us.
conservative, progressive, ... who cares ...
words don’t count. Taking action does.
P.s. how about ‘Is huck a congressiv proservative ?’
I remember the first time I saw HuckaPHONY... Clinton was governor of Arkansas, and HuckaPHONY was a leisure suited TV preacher who played the guitar. 1983
I’m not sure what he is. He doesn’t sound conservative to me. He sounds like a politician who is willing to pile on conservatives. His approach is to rip on a true conservative so as to sound fair when he makes his conservative case. His method reminds me of Hatch, McCain, or Graham. And that tirade of his was just plain stupid. It was like the old saying, “Thou protest too much.” - Shakespeare.
If the huckster is a damn conservative I am the king of the world. You need to get off of whatever you are on.
When you’re in Arkansas and get hit 20% or more on a restaruant tab for taxes, you can thank Huck. He raised more taxes than any other gov.
He says one thing, then turns around and says something else. Liberal hiding behind a conservative facade
Huckabee is to the left of GWB on every single issue. Huckabee is a socialist...
Well, first, attacking the FairTax is not the way to go about claiming Huck is a Progressive
Karl Marx is the father of the Income Tax....are all people attacking the FairTax....Communists?
Huckabee is not a conservative
The FairTax is a good idea, a much better way to collect revenue without having the intrusion of the government
The Flat Tax proposed by some is still the Karl Marx Income Tax....it still punishes rich people for making money...even though it is not a graduated tax
Those who attack the FairTax must really love big government, UN Statist Free Trade, and Karl Marx
Huck is neither. He is a political pragmatist who will blow with whatever wind seems to serve his interests at any given time.
He hate the fair tax because of the socialist, unconstitutional prebate.
Answer: The same thing you need to be to win a senator race in Massachusetts.
Should be “I” not “he”
Huck is a goober
Why does this question even need to be asked? Its very clear that Huckabee is conservative on social issues like abortion but is a raging liberal on economic issues and nanny-statism. He’s a Christian Socialist, Compassionate Conservative, Nanny-State Conservative, George Bush on Steroids—take your pick of terms.
That is what I have thought about him for quite awhile now. I know he is a good man, but also think he is a weak man, politically speaking, with his finger in the air.
