YOUR PRAYERS ARE NEEDED!

       Our old FRiend Prime Choice (Jay Dyson), who many of you will  remember as the talented creator of 'Sacred Cow Burgers' (ref:  here, and here), credits YOUR PRAYERS as critical in enabling him to successfully weather his serious past medical adversity, but is now reaching out out again for your help...

In a recent email, Jay says in part...

You will undoubtedly recall my prayer request from 7 years ago.  The grace of the Almighty was a salve upon my affliction then, and my family and I desperately need it now.

I am presently under "no contact" isolation as the doctors believe this infection is MRSA.  I have gone through surgery and my white blood cell count is over 28,000 whereas a healthy person's count is usually around 10,000.

With this in mind, I ask you to pass a prayer request along the same circles you did before when I was stricken in 2004.  I ask this not simply for me, but largely so I can hold my 4 month old daughter and 4 year old son again.

Thank you ALL for your continuing help and support for our FRiend Jay Dyson.  He's apparently got a way to go but, thanks to the Lord's work, and YOUR prayers, it seems that Jay is making excellent progress!

In an email April 28th, Jay said in part...

It is my pleasure to let you and the prayer warriors know that -- thanks to the grace of the Almighty -- my health continues to improve.  Today was my first full day home from the hospital.  I still have a long road of recovery ahead, yet the comfort of sleeping in our home is beyond quantification...

I'm on some serious antibiotics right now, as well as serious pain meds.  I'm not entirely comfortable, but I am at peace.

With the prayers for my recovery, I'd also like to ask for prayers of thanks for the nursing staff and doctors who treated me.  When I was hospitalized in 2004, my hospital experience was a harrowing and dehumanizing one...and this experience here was markedly different.  I had nurses visit with me, pray with me, and share their experiences of faith with me in such a generous and open way that was comforting beyond measure.  I attribute this good fortune to the prayers lifted up by many, and I fervently hope that others still hospitalized are as deeply touched.

Again, thank you all.  My recovery is just beginning, and I'm grateful for all the support and outpouring of caring.  God bless you all.

I am pleased to again be able to convey good news relating to his continued healing,
along with Jay's heartfelt thanks for all of your wonderful help in his time of need.

Please accept my utmost apologies for the length of time since the last update.  
... It appears that Jay has been extremely engaged in catching up with his studies
after his recent illness, but I am sure you will all be as pleased as I am to hear (not
only of his continued healing, but) of of his successes in those educational activities,
a large portion of which he credits to YOU, for your kind help in his time of adversity...

 

On Thursday, May 19, 2011 Jay wrote in part...

I wanted to pass along a miracle related to my ongoing recovery.  When I was hospitalized, I was in the beginning of my second-to-last class in my degree program.  I was very lucky to have an instructor who was more than willing to work with me regarding the assignments that came due while I was ill.  He originally gave me five extra days to have my first assignment handed in, but when he heard that I'd been hospitalized, he told my wife that I could hand in every assignment (three weeks of papers) on the last day of class if I needed to.

The week after I got out of the hospital, I spent the following five days cranking out three weeks' worth of individual papers.  Following that, I spend the last four days of class cranking out my contribution to the class team project.  I really thought it was going to be nothing short of a miracle if I got a 'B' for the class...but I got my grade and I got an 'A'!  95.38%!

Thought you might get a kick out of this news.  Thanks again to you and all the prayer warriors.  Thanks to your prayers, I really feel like I was that much more able to pull out a 'win' on this.  Just 3.5 more weeks to go until I'm done with this degree!  Then I'm starting my MBA program in the Spring term of 2012.  Wish me luck!

On July 8, 2011, Jay Dyson wrote, in part...

...I wanted to pass along some good news.  I finally finished my degree!  I received my final transcripts and diploma last week, and my graduation commencement will be this July 23rd at the University of Phoenix stadium.  I really couldn't have done this without the support of many people, not the least of which were... all the... prayer warriors who were my advocates of recovery this past April and May.  Once again, please convey my heartfelt thanks for helping me make it as far as I have.
