The law of nations, another term for international law, is not the same thing as “The Law of Nations,” the title of a specific book. Until you can grasp that, I don’t have anything else to say.

The latter clause is time-limited and applies only to the generation that lived through the transition after the American Revolution. The first clause simply means that they must have been born here, not necessarily that their parents were citizens, because they couldn’t have been citizens at that time.

An absolutely excellent point.

Believe what you want but your arguments are not at all based upon any case deciding Presidential eligibility.

You can also believe that being a natural born citizen requires both jus soli AND jus sanguinis, but not only are your arguments not based on any case deciding Presidential eligibility, I'm not sure they're based on any case at all.

They're certainly not based on the majority opinion in Wong Kim Ark.

From my understanding of the law, yes, your children can run for President, as long as they were born in the USA while you and your wife were resident here.

Yes, this is a glaring loophole in US law. All our enemies have to do is sneak a pregnant woman across the border, wait until she gives birth, and then take their newborn sleeper agent back across the border for indoctrination.

Twenty-one years later, the kid returns to the US to establish the 14 years of permanent residency required. On the day he turns 35, he is eligible to run for president. Now he's home free -- all he has to do is get elected president, something so easy that 38 men have done it in the last 223 years. I mean, a billion or so dollars and 70 million or so votes is all you need. Piece of cake.

You left a couple of things out.

First, you have to have a kid who will submit to be a puppet for the rest of his or her life. Since this isn't assured, you need to give birth to and train a bunch of your moles.

Second, you have to have a kid who won't come to love the USA during those 14+ years of residence here. Because he or she might just betray you. So you need a bunch more kids to make sure of that.

Third, very few people are elected at age 35. It's more likely to take 50 years, so your own regime is going to have to last that long without any significant political change.

Oh, and fourth, it's probably not going to do you any good, because if you're old enough to run this scam, you may very well be dead by the time any of your little moles can get elected. Or at least in the nursing home.

Other than that, though, it's a piece of cake.

The Framers did not have an open borders mentality in regards to the position of Commander-in-Chief and specifically stated that only a ‘natural born citizen’ who is born to TWO American citizen parents is eligible for the position of Commander-in-Chief.

Really? They specifically said that? Including the words in red? Perhaps you can point out where. In the Constitution, that is. Because I don't quite remember the words in red being there. But perhaps I missed them.

The underlying assumption is that the only thing keeping a terrorist from being elected president is the Natural Born Citizen requirement. Herewith a partial list of people who are constitutionally eligible to run for president:

- Ted Kaczynski
- Charles Manson
- David Berkowitz
- OJ Simpson
- Terry Nichols
- Jesse James (Sandra Bullock’s ex)
- Charlie Sheen
- Steve Ballmer
- Flavor Flav
