I believe it is schaudenfreude, but Freud may well have something to do with this. Poor Huma. She’s had to put up with the Hillabeast all these years, and now this.
Weiner has done as much to expose the DU and Kos communities for their stupidity as Will the drunkard. Only he did it more quickly. Neither deserve any consideration as men of substance (unless it’s substance abuse that is...)

That's because many of "us" (DUmmies and KOmmies) ARE fools. Duh.
Two things that really stood out (sorry for the implication...) to me were his comments about having discussed this with his wife even before their marriage, and his comments about assuming all his contacts were adults.
The wife issue tends to fuel the debate over Huma's sexual proclivity. What woman would marry a man knowing he's a pervert, unless it was a marriage of convenience? And the idea one would involve themselves in sexual conduct (even if by phone) with someone where there was even a remote possibility of their being underage is disgusting by itself.
The MSM may not pick up on this, but it's a sure bet the bloggers will.
Agreed his comments didn’t ring true. There was no reason to say that his wife knew and his “assumption” that the girls were of age seems to suggest that some probably aren’t or weren’t and he’s looking for an out.

Judging by the associations he keeps based on these sites, he surely brought it on himself. If these people treat the general public the way they treat one another on these sites, they deserve all the ridicule they get.
The entire press conference didn’t ring true. It comes in an afternoon when the blogs are abuzz with the release of new photos (not really that bad, btw), the fake tears, and the refusal to take real responsibility for these acts by doing the right thing and resigning his position in Congress. Strictly damage control, and nothing else.
It’s that lack of responsible behavior that insures this story still has legs. Had he resigned, it would have gone away after another day or so of fun threads. But now, he’s disgraced himself, the House of Representatives, the Democrat Party, and any-and-all who stood up for him. He’s also admitted to using people both for his own advantage and to damage their reputation with his lies.
Also, one of the “other” women has stated he in fact did call her from his Congressional phone. Those records should be easy to obtain, both on her end and his. In fact, his using his office to lie to the press could well be in violation of Congressional rules. He may think he has this behind him, but he’d better think again.
