2012 presidential long shot Barack Obamas foreign policy campaign speech yesterday succeeded in reassuring the Taliban that America is, indeed, on its way out of Afghanistan. In an effort to reach out to his left wing base, candidate Obama spoke against a backdrop of conspicuously absent American flags.
His foregin policy remains as muddled as ever. We continue to drop bombs in Libya, but are withdrawing troops in Afghanistan. Obama set out no coherent plan nor did he lay out any benchmarks by which we can assess our progress.
Also curiously absent from Obamas speech was any reference to Pakistan.
In contrast to the lame duck Commander in Chief, General Patraeus does have a clear plan in Afghanistan which is being ignored by Obama in favor of appeasing his base and the Taliban.
Another consequence of Obamas fecklessness will be a loss of trust and cooperation from tribal leaders and locals whose help is indispensable in not only beating back the Taliban but for the safety of our troops.
As is to be expected from Obama, no mention was made of actuallly winning this war. His goal is some kind of nonsensical ending of the war responsbily. No worries if youre a Taliban supporteryou now know they just have to wait us out.
Here is Obama’s negotiating technique in an anology to a marriage and divorce proceedings:
“If you divorce me I am leaving you~!- And I really mean it”
(credit to this AM’s Glenn Beck show)
Look for casualty numbers to increase at a greater rate as a consequence of President Sharpton telegraphing his military strategy to the enemy.
Pray for our troops.
Its too bad. Iran was surrounded if someone chose to act.
Now we can clearly see Obama’s intent for America’s (and the west’s) safety and security.
The Idiot in Chief keeps refering to “accomplishing our goals” but he never says what those “goals” are. (because he doesn’t know)
I only watched for 5 minutes. I couldn’t stand the way he said Tahleebahn. But hey, I guess a Muslim would know the correct pronunciation. They are planning their next move at this moment, and it won’t be good.
