I got some grief awhile back for saying something that I'll say again. And that is that if AOL bought out Huff-And-Puffington post for $315,000,000 then FreeRepublic has substantial economic value. Because of that and because I see no reason why the Robinsons should not profit from this fantastic site I'd have no problem with some sensible advertising here. By conservative companies.

One poster gave me heck because Jim does not want to monitize the site. That's Jim and this is his baby but I'd really like to see the Robinsons make a few bucks more than what they have to ask for now. Just an thought.

Jim has been very clear on all that.

The more relevant question is why the majority of users give zero, zip, nada $$. If the users were doing the right thing in decent numbers, first, there would never be a FReepathon; and secondly, the owner would be doing quite well w/o catering to advertisers.
